I recently received an e-mail about doing paid surveys. As a college student, it occured to me that a job such as doing paid surveys would be a GREAT way to make money while in school and still have time to do my schoolwork! But I don't want to give out personal information to a place that will try to steal my I.D., scam me, etc. I have found places that offer free lists of sites that pay people to do surveys, but how can I be sure these sites are legitimate and not out to scam? Any signs that I can look for? Thank you!

Why do people always go for paid surveys? You can try affiliate marketing, promote other people products with article marketing. It's free and it will pay you WAY more than 1 survey. If i'm right, then you get around $1-$3 per survey. Affiliate marketing you can earn from $20 to $1000 per sale.
Paid survey sites sometimes even don't pay you. They just give you some evouchers what you can spend when shopping online.
My advice...don't do paid surveys. If you can spend 1h lets say to do few surveys, then you can spend this 1h writing articles and doing affiliate marketing.
Question is...do you want to earn extra money while in school, or you want to become full time marketer and earn living from online?

For tax purposes some companies need such information and usually you would submit it on a w-9 form or you might input information needed as an independent contract of the company, and send it to the company. So asking for such information is NOT NECESSARILY an indication of scam.
Now the bigger concern would be in the thought that doing paid surveys is a job and that it's going to pay you any substantial money. In 4 years of marketing online I just haven't seen success stories with doing paid surveys that pay out pennies, IF you qualify. And they certainly are not jobs.
If you are looking for an opportunity to earn your own cash based on your own efforts you may be way better off pursuing something else.
I was in college when I started my life long entrepreneur ventures and it has been a great thing. Even if you have a job and degrees one needs to be about doing things to make their own money as well. There's nothing more powerful than building your own monthly residual income business. The earlier you start the better off you can be.

Me too Hermas,
You have to have more than one source of income as I am sure that people who have lost their jobs are finding out.
Even Social security is not an answer which some people have gone on recently just to survive. But trust me it isn't an answer to making any money at all. People can't survive on Social Security. It wasn't meant to give you what you once had. You need more than one source of income particularly nowadays  As the saying goes you are never to old to become what you wanted to become years ago.
I think some of us have given up on their dreams. I would encourage people not to do that.
There are opportunitys out there you just have to keep looking for them. Find something that fits you and most importantly I think is make sure it gives you residual monthly income. You have residual bills don't you?

You have to understand that 98% of websites online, taking surveys or making $1000 a day or a week are just a scam. If it is too good to be true, then most likely it is. What you have to do is that you need to do your research on every website before you even sign up for them. Most websites, especially survey ones, ask for personal information like your address. However, if they are asking for social security number or credit card number then you are in the wrong place. Try to avoid those as much as possible because you might dig yourself into a big hole. Hope this helps you out.

There a many survey sites that will try to scam you buy asking you to pay a membership fee. You should never have to pay to take surveys. There are plenty of sites out there that are free to join. And you can make up to 300 dollars each month. That is a believable amount. You can never make more than that per month. But survey taking is a great way to earn some extra cash while in college. I'm in college and I have been taking surveys for two years and have earned over $3000.

And one of the best ways to do this is to go with affiliate programs. This is a very very famous way of making money online.
There is a HUGE income to be made from affiliate programs in different niches these days.

Just do your research. Check reviews on various companies. One thing to steer clear of - never pay a fee to access any kind of "survey site". Those are a complete joke and will leave you ticked off that you wasted your money.
Most survey companies won't ask for anything too personal (i.e. tax information, social security numbers, etc).
