I am in Canada but know of a lot of people who are from India and are doing really well online.

I'm from Canada too and I also know people from India that make far more than I do working in IM.
There is a lot of skill coming out of there (especially Web Programming) that affiliates are willing to pay Top $$ to when it comes to web design.
