Welcome to the forum, April! There is TONS of great advice all over it. If you get into blogging, you may also want to check out www.Linkshare.com and www.commissionjunction.com. They are companies that have LOTS of major websites who want to find people to promote for them. And, frankly, you can often make much more from those major companies than Google Adsense. Of course, the hardest part is not making your blog but promoting it. There are TONS of great ideas here on this forum on how to do that. One of the best, I believe, is writing press releases. You can check into that more in other areas of the forum (trying not to add more books to the current reading you already have here for you ). Let us know if any of us can help in any way! I truly love this forum, and all of the members seem quite help with anything that comes up.

Hi April,
I'll join in with the other good folks around here and add that working from home telemarketing (everything from customer service to sales positions) is a real possibility for you if you haven't found your calling yet. This is an area of great opportunity for job-seekers looking for legitimate at home employment. Hope this helps! Look forward to hearing how things are going for you!

Hello April,
Plenty of great advice above. You obviously are looking for something that offers a flexible work schedule and a company that has a product that you believe in and can get excited about.
There are plenty of opportunities out there that offer both, in work-at-home jobs as well as home based businesses. It just depends on which way is best for you.
The fact that you have children may mean that you have an interest in educational products. Feel free to look below at an excellent company that features an exclusive product that is in demand by the masses.
Best of luck.

I keep hearing these paid to do survey or get paid to surf the net schemes. What are those? I guess really the only way you can legitimately make money working from home is by being a freelancer. On the otherhand, it can help to join multiple sites that offer payment for your content. Essentially, you're getting dual streams of payment; one, from your freelance job, and, the other, from your content submissions to websites, such as Associated Content, Helium, and eHow. Sites like eHow allow users to make money through the year as long as they leave their content up o the site. It can be well worth it.

I've had the same problem, 4 kids (2 homeschooled, and 2 under 3yrs old) so I was never able to take a customer service job. Yes, there are jobs out there you can do that aren't scams, as far as data entry/administrative is concerned. The best way to start is freelancing. That's where I started off as well...
You go to freelance sites and apply for projects. Some are temp projects however a large number are looking for permanent help. I have 3-4 clients that I work with on a project by project basis (my preference) from completing a few freelance projects for them. They have all types of projects: data entry, internet research, virtual assistant, etc. Hope this helps!
