Hi, I just wanted came across your post. I am currently working as a ChaCha guide and have been for a few months now. For me personally, this is the best thing I have found online. It is very easy, if you can do a internet search, then you have the skills needed. I recently also found out that you can refer up to 40 people to apply as guides, and if they are accepted, you make 10% of their earnings as well. You work whenever you want for however long you want. I make some decent extra cash from ChaCha in my spare time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I personally feel the sooner the better to get in on this opportunity. BTW, if anyone sees this post and decides to try ChaCha, please contact me and let me give you my referral info (it will not take anything from you, it will just help me out a bit). I have tried multiple jobs online and this is the only one that stuck. This is truly legit. You can try the service yourself if you have a cell phone. Text a question, any question to 242242. It is a free service, only standard txt rates apply per your phone plan. Good luck!

That's interesting. What would you say is 'decent extra cash?' Basically, how much are you actually being paid for your time, if you don't mind me asking. This may be something my sister could do, but I don't want to recommend it if it is really not worth it.

Thanks,
Angie

I recently got this email. I tried Cha Cha, but didn't really think the earnings were enough to justify to the work. I make a lot more doing mystery shopping and surveys, as well as some other contract-type work. They seem to have some kind of new role as "Expeditor." You can work whenever you want, so may be good if you need a lot of flexibility. Here's the message:

ChaCha is adding new Guide roles, and after reviewing previous applicants we would like to invite you to join the latest ChaCha Mobile Answers Guide opportunity to become one of ChaCha's first Expeditors!

Expeditors are like the Air Traffic Controllers of the ChaCha world. It's your speedy, savvy work that keeps the questions flying in swift, orderly fashion to the right places. At times, you'll even intercept questions yourself and provide an instant answer to the customer.

As an Expeditor, you sit at the crux of the system, converting all incoming questions into a standard form, determining if answers already exist, and categorizing the questions so they're routed to the best available Guides. We think the Expeditor role is a perfect fit for Guides who prefer a more systematic set of tasks.

What's required? Strong grammar and spelling, excellent general knowledge, fast typing, quick decision-making, and strong reasoning ability.

You might make a great Expeditor if you:

... like solving puzzles (crossword, sudoku, jigsaw), Spelling Bees, Trivial Pursuit,

... like organizing things, putting everything into the right box, keeping your inbox tidy

... like playing games like Civilization, SimCity, Command and Conquer, Total Annihilation

... are fascinated by internet indexes, card catalogs, and methods of organizing data

... like the top-level view best - where you can see the farthest

... think you'd make a good Air Traffic Controller, Librarian, or Career Counselor

... enjoy seeing the amazing variety of questions people ask ChaCha

The Expeditor

The Expeditor performs a more systematic and defined set of tasks than a Generalist/Specialist. We compare Expeditors to Air traffic Controllers because their work keeps everything moving smoothly. Expeditors don't search for answers, they help identify who should do the searching by correctly formatting and categorizing each question.

Expeditor Duties

* Converting questions into a standard form
* Determining if an answer already exists
* Categorizing questions to route them to the best available Guide
* Providing direct responses for certain question types

Expeditor Skills

* Strong grammar and spelling
* Excellent general knowledge
* Fast typing
* Quick decision-making
* Strong reasoning ability

Expeditor Compensation

Expeditors do many more transactions than a Generalist or Specialist. Expeditors are paid a $.02 base rate with a $.01 quality incentive. This quality incentive will be automatically paid out to all Expeditors at least the first 30 days while they learn the system. Pay averages between $4 - $7 per hr.

Give it a shot!

Do you have what it takes to be an Expeditor? Ready for a seat on the bridge of one of the hottest information services in the world? Help ChaCha take the next step in delivering incredible Mobile Answers by being an Expeditor. Like every ChaCha Guide role, work hours are flexible.

To start training, please click the following link and log into the KnowledgeBase with your Guide username and password: http://knowledgebase.chacha.com/questions/311/

If you do not remember your password, there will be a link in the KnowledgeBase for you to request that it be sent to you.

*Should you have questions, or encounter any issues, please submit one request via the feedback section in the KnowledgeBase. Please select the Expeditor category in the drop-down menu.

Good luck!

ChaCha Guide Care

**Please note: Expeditor Training will be down for maintenance daily from 8-11AM EST. You will not be able to access the Expeditor Simulator test during this time.

Thanks fwshopper for all that information. After reading it, I don't think it would be a good fit for my sister.

Thanks again,
Angie

I failed the test, how long can you wait to take it again. I got nervous taking it. I wanted to add that to my portfolio since I'm online working my businesses anyway.

I did my 10 to become a ChaCha Guide and it is a lot of work when you search for an answer and the only answer you can find is from one of the resources that you are forbidden to use as a source. I wouldn't expect to make a living from ChaCha but if you are just looking for extra ways to make money, you should try ChaCha. It's free and you can earn a percentage of what your referrals earn.

I haven't done any chacha since I became a guide, but I've been receiving emails for High Volume Alert lately, so this is a GREAT time to start with ChaCha for those interested.

As of now they are not hiring, you don't need a referral to become a guide. You can add someone's name if they referred you in the application.

I am a ChaCha Guide, and it's great!
It's true, you don't make A LOT of money with it, but it's very easy and if you have some spare time and don't know what to do with it, you can turn it into hard cash in your bank with ChaCha.
I know in this economy a lot of people with some internet skills and some time to kill would love to do it.
Recently they have appeared on ESPN, ABC and others... and their popularity has grown a lot!
By the way, if you have a question, text "ChaCha" and get your answer... fast! It's free.
Watch this ABC clip where they are mentioned:

By the way, we Guides can invite 40 people to our personal team and I still have room in mine. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me and I can help you start ChaCha with the right foot. Thanks!

I took the test to become a guide and failed it, so I became an expeditor. I sat for between 6-8 hours a day all through November 08 and only made $100 by the 15th of December. I haven't done it since. In my opinion, that was way too much time spent for only $100.

If I could retest to become a guide (which I don't think is possible. I think it's a once shot opportunity), I would consider working for them again because I'd make a little bit more money as a guide, but otherwise I just don't think it's worth it.

Megan

I agree. $100 for almost a full-time job for a month is far too little for that work. I make much more as a Guide, of course, but I think you are right about the test being a one-time chance.
If I were you, I would go back and put a couple of hours with them as an Expeditor just to see if the return is any better now.
I can tell you that the user base is much bigger now with all the publicity they have got lately...

Hello urupanther,

Could you message me with the details on the invite as well? I am very interested in this job and I could do it very well, but it appears that they are not hiring at the moment so it would be nice if you had a working invite please.

Thank you
