Few years ago when I was a student, a guy came to our university to introduce telecommunication company to us, not sure if you are familiar with it (Tiscali). We were all excited and almost everyone was in that room joined including me but I did not have a clue about mlm. I never heard from the guy who sponsored us again not even an email. I was lucky to sell the products to break even but I gave up and did not make any money. Tiscali became household name in the UK lol if I only knew then what I know now.
Now I am working in the university I graduated from, I am thinking to approach students come September.
Anybody done something similar??

There is always the potential that some students will be open to your biz oppty so do fear it. Just like any other business you have to continue to market/advertise and get exposure so that those that are interested will move forward with you.

I'm not sure how they do it.. but I remember a knife company (cutco) had written in every single classroom chalk board to meet in a room at some time for a $14 appt position.
I'd say call the main office or stop in and see what you are able to do, do you know anyone that's still a student there it may be easier for someone who'se a student.

sarauk, if you decide to approach the students with something like this after you find it is okay, then make a simple plan. You may want to find a place to have these meetings, make flyers, have some free snacks and drinks(non-alcoholic), make a referral form list to setup appts and signup forms. Don't forget to have business cards for them have in case they want to contact you later. This is a bold way of marketing and it is good. A lot of people won't go out there and do the footwork of marketing. Also, give it some time. Don't get discouraged after just a few tries. Wish you the best.
btw-the person you never heard back from was foolish not to contact all the people who signed up.
