For those that have had some success in network marketing I would like to hear your thoughts on what you think contributes most to network marketing success.

My opinion is that belief is by far the most important factor to success.

Belief in yourself, others, the product, and the opportunity.

Skills, tactics, and strategies can be learned. But, I've never seen anyone that has weak belief succeed in network marketing.

If your belief is weak then your business will be weak. If your belief is strong then your network marketing business will be strong.

Belief is everything.

Funny thing is that belief is not taught in business schools or universities or colleges. Yet, in my opinion, it is by far the most important thing a person could learn.

"Anything is possible to the person who believes"

"If you think you can, if you think you cant, you're right"

"Whatever a man can conceive he can achieve"

As soon as a person stops doubting, whining, blaming, complaining, etc. and start believing in themselves, others, and their opportunity... they will get amazing results.

What are your thoughts?

Dear Bob, I have believed in my product and the prepackaged sales technique since November with very little success. I truly believed in my upline and all they were telling me, and I tried it all.

Until recently when I came across a marketing system that has given me new hope in my company and mlms my belief was producing very little. But I can tell you that it is not belief that is making me successful. It is hard work. I spend many long hour on the computer, the phone, and in books learning so that I can succeed.

I feel your article made it sound just a little to simple to succeed in an mlm. You must believe. But you had better be ready to put some hard work behind it in order to see your business grow.

Good luck in your endevors.

Hi Bob, without a doubt a positive mindset is imperative to building a successful business. There are many people who have strong beliefs however, and are not realizing the success they thought they would.

Any top money earner will tell you to work harder on yourself than any thing else. We have to become someone people want to follow and that takes skill which takes time and a lot of hard work.

Listen to tapes, CD's, read books, follow guru's on Twitter and Facebook. Just a couple of suggestions.

It's a 5 year plan and it won't happen over night but anyone who sticks it out is definitely happy they did.

To your success,

Establishing a mindset for success is paramount. Without doing that you will fail to overcome the challenges on the pathway to success. Many of which are mental.

However, persistence and consistency in your marketing matters will help you prevail.

There are 2 things to promote to have success in the "eight wonder of the world-network marketing", you must promote the business and you must promote training to your team. Understand this will lead to success, and most of all monthly residual cash flow.

Belief is where it's at. If you believe yourself to be average maybe you'll succeed in 5 years or so. If you believe yourself to be sensational and a world-changing network marketer it might take a year or less. This means that you'll do the things that the Top Dogs in the networking world do right off the bat.

Of course skills have to be developed along the way but when your self-image is that of a powerful person these skills will come to you easily. What others view as hard work you'll view as easy. It all happened because you took the time to use your imagination to see yourself as successful and powerful.

Another thing on belief; when you *really* believe in yourself you won't hesitate to meet hundreds of people a day right off the bat. A lot of network marketing newbies have little confidence in their product or service; they might say they do but they'd be hesitant to contact a guru or splash it out over the web in front of many potential critics. When you believe fully in what you have to offer you'll have no problem meeting plenty of people who want to help you to succeed.

Yes, you got to believe in yourself. This is a very important aspect of the business.

You also got to be persistent and take action at all times. There will be many times that you don't feel like anything is working for you. when this happens and it will happen, you got to stay on course and keep going no matter what.

This is the best advice I can give you.

Yes belief is important another factor is desire,
Desire is what keeps you going though the learning curve,
Believe me there is one and everyone goes though it.
But desire keeps you in there hopefully,
until you have some experience.
Learning + Doing = Earning

Hey Bob,

I totally agree with you. I think that a strong belief translates to a strong faith which will translate into persistence. I've been in the industry for a few years and from what I've heard from all the guru's persistence is the most valuable behavior in this industry. To never give up and always keep learning, trying, and tweaking.

Even with a strong belief though it's going to be impossible to build a business unless you're doing something every day to make your dream a reality. Lots of people, too many in my opinion, buy all the programs, books, and training but then fail on the implementation stage so that is the other piece someone needs to be successful...the actual doing part.

Hey Bob

I agree that you have to believe in the company and the products/services.

But I feel you also have to have the necessary training from the company , your upline and or your team in skills relating to :

lead generation (who is interested your business ?)
lead conversion ( who becomes a partner or a customer?)

Tie these with belief and you are unstoppable.

To your success,
Chucks

Your success is very much depends on your mindset... your attitude towards your MLM Biz.

The mantra is "DO daily income producing activity over an extended period of time."

I very much agree that the mindset of belief is all important towards your MLM business, or any other business for that matter.

But it will only get you so far.

It has to be supported with the right tools to get the job done of building a successful MLM business, and to interact with our potential customers to help them solve their needs through our products and services.

Some of the things that contribute most to network marketing success are having dedication, determination, and discipline. The three D's If you have dedication then you will take action daily towards your goal or goals. If you have determination then you will not think about failing, the only way you can fail is if you give up. If you have discipline then you would take action without someone having to push you all the time. You must believe in yourself and also read what the wealthy read. Listen to self-help dvd's and cd's. Read books like "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. It's very very very important that you belive in the products that your company offers. You must also believe in the founders of the company. If you get bad feelings then call them...You should be able to give them a call directly....See in corporate america it may be very difficult to contact the owner of say McDonalds or Microsoft. But usually in our industry the founders take phone calls.

I agree if you belief is weak then your business will be weak as well. If your strong and your upline is strong then the only way you can fail is by you deciding to fail.

Your totally right school doesn't usually teach you about belief because they expect us to be part of the system. If you remember what happened when the class was over.......The bell would ring....you would have a short break then the bell would ring again...........Fast forward now......When you get older what do they expect.........They expect you to report to work when they want you to...Also you better not be late from lunch.....They give you a small lunch usually about 30 mintues to an 60 minutes because if you spend too much time away from your desk then you will figure out ways to position yourself to buy the company yourself or make more income than your superior.

There are several things that you need to do for success.
1. Yes you need to believe in yourself and your products and your company, if you don't think that any of those 3 are good, then people will pick up on that and they will think the same.

2. Training (ongoing) don't EVER stop learning, you stop learning you stop growing, you stop growing, your comany dies slowly. You need to be on the top of the game with NM, and the way to do that is through continual education, if 1 hour a week gives you 1 new idea, technique or motivation.. it was worth it.

3. ACTION. You can't sit on your butt and do nothing, you actually need to do something, call people, set up lead capture pages. There is no such thing as a set it and forget it system if you want to be a player in the industry you need to to things. Part of this is stepping outside of your comfort zone.

*just a small tip, practice what you teach to your down-line or on your blog / twitter / etc others.. if you say.. you should be training 1 day a week, if you aren't that's a bad thing..

[end of information story below]
Below is an example of tying all 3 together:
Training: I attend training webinars at least 2x a week, so I've learned some great techniques.. With those techniques, we generated some pretty decent pre-launch interest in one of the businesses we've decided to look into.
Belief: I have a secret.. I get nervous and anxious making warm calls (calling people who have opted into a business, something like the lock your spot pre-launch campaign). But I've still got to do it. So I take 5 min or so and reflect on picking up the phone will make the sale.. and that there's nothing to worry about,l it's a phone the worst people can do is hang up on me. The best that can happen is that people will be floored that an actual person called them, and phone's usually don't have a spam folder where the voicemail and phone call gets ignored.
Action: I just pick up the phone dial. Guess what.. I made 3or4 calls yesterday, and got 1 person interested in that business, and 1 person interested in another as they were new to network marketing and didn't want to join the 1 company, but was interested in the other after I explained both to him. Without that phone call I doubt this person would have ever relayed their concerns via e-mail (if our e-mails ever got to them)

Caterstory - there's some great tips in your post; belief, training and action.

One thing I learned and am still learning is that those who stop being better stop being good (a quote from Oliver Cromwell I believe).

As individuals I believe we all find our own way and our own level of comfort when building a business. For some it takes longer than others. Whichever, as long as we're out there making a difference and doing the best we can with integrity, the results will come.

I've lost count of the sheer volume of information I've consumed from different marketers in my efforts to crack the online marketing code, and I'm still out there excited about the process because even though my results to date have not been worth writing home about, I know success will come.

If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Amen to that!

Belief is the starting point indeed, but that belief must be used to start a raging flame of desire, one that must be continually fueled.

You must keep your mindset positive by getting and staying around like-minded people who support your efforts. You must read and learn about your industry, and positive mindset in general. Most of all, you have to stay consistent in your efforts to see results.

Yes, belief is very important, but if nothing is ever done about that belief, it will wither and die.

I very much agree that the mindset of belief is all important towards your MLM business, or any other business.

1. Blames someone else like a sponsor or an upline member. vs. Taking responsibility for making a mistake or not following up with a prospect.
2. Insists on making a ton of money immediately and then gets highly upset when it doesn't happen. vs. Understanding that building a residual income in network marketing takes time and that you need to be patient.
3.Saying, "Go do it." vs. Saying, "Let's go do it."
