Hi there michaelcole,
I do agree with you. I don't know much about the business that you all are talking about, but ya seems that this thread got a little heated. But all over with now it seems.
I do agree it is important to develop a list and a relationship with your list so they have a chance to get to know and hopefully trust you.
I know that I personally don't trust someone that directly tries to sell me something. Definitely feels like they only care about getting in your pocket without offering value or effort to know what your needs really are.
So that's my third cents........
I wish great success to us all!!!!

Matt Zenittini You said: Why is it that only 2% of us MLMers succeed?
Great question. A millionaire friend of mine once said when I asked him the same thing...Francine, it is because most people CAN NOT follow directions.
I thought he was arrogant at the time but now I agree.
Why is it sometimes so hard to follow instructions? Why do we always want to fiddle with the formula our teacher gives us?
A quote about horses and water springs to mind...
What do others think about this?

The thread started regarding not leading with your product - The reason is because no one wants your product. What everyone wants is the solution to a problem. As Mike Dillard says, "no one wants a drill, they want the hole."
If our product/service or business opportunity can help them achieve their goals, that's step one. Second step, we need to be someone they trust will show them how. What's most important is being someone other people can follow. The only way to do that is to learn the skills.
Teaching a system that everyone can duplicate means eventually, your business will run on auto-pilot while you're off doing other things. I agree with you Michael and Trish, every successful business has a system - Microsoft has a system.
It's not about being "put in a box" and not being an individual. But really, why re-invent the wheel? Do what successful people do and you will achieve the same result.
