I've been in network marketing for many months now and am having a "where to advertise block!" Anyone know of good places to advertise our NM biz to gain people who are truly looking for this type of work and offer a good amount of replies? I love the low cost and free ads, but will consider something else. I don't want to go to the huge career sites like Monster, or Career Builder though.
Any help or suggestions will be great!

Adland Pro isn't bad at all. Some people like Direct Matches, but I don't. You have to post large numbers of ads to get results. Adwords or other PPC are okay, but your product has to stand out, otherwize you throw money down the toilet.
I haven't yet had success with ezines, but I have not really tried too hard. It works if you research and test, apparently.
Informational marketing is hands-down the best way to generate quality prospects on the internet who want to work with YOU. This is essential. There is no outright superior product or MLM. There are only people out there who are looking for somebody to help them make some money by showing them the ropes.
If you want to promote yourself as a good internet marketer you must learn how to do it well. You don't have to master it... most of the folks doing this are borderline incompetent at it. Distinguish yourself by building a foundation of knowledge in internet marketing and if your MLM gels with the marketing (they don't all work well with web-based marketing, lets face it), you could become the next duplicable recruiting machine.
Good Luck.

Good information Mr. Scott,
Also try to have something that is low cost that will make your leads paid leads.
If you have something that people want ie (software to help them in business) then they will pay for it. At this time they become a paid prospect. Even if they don't buy into that program they may join you at another time.
Now when you advertise in ezines and other places they will respond because you have something they want.
Lets face it we all have join this game to make money. So help the person succeed and they will want to know more about you. This includes what you are doing.
The product that you offer should be less than $50 and help them succeed.

You can try writing articles on related subjects to your NM business, on a variety of Ezines. You can use a resource box to link back to your website...and if people like your article, they will pick it up. I think this is a better bet than paying for advertising, since writing articles is FREE.
If you want to get lots of traffic, you can give Google Adwords a shot (pay per click advertising), but don't do this without some trainining in Adwords, as it can be extremely complicated - and the competition is FIERCE. If you go the Adwords route, I'd recommend watching your campaign BY THE HOUR to make sure your costs don't sky rocket, and if your web page has any kind of tracking, check out visitor length and that kind of a thing (you can get free stat tracking at Statcount.com)
Well, that's my two cents!

Definitely try some Pay Per Click Advertising...
Go with one of the cheaper less known engines.
My favorite is 7 Search (7Search.com)
Keywords that are extremely competitive on Google and Yahoo are a fraction of the cost all the while still providing some good traffic.
Start with $25 bucks
Hope it helps

One of the biggest problems with Multi-Level-Marketing today is that the internet tends to trap reps into thinking that the most profitable avenue for rep & revenue generation is to do it all on the web. This is entirely not true! The most profitable medium for establishing a rock solid mlm downline is strictly one on one. Keep all of your reps and referals close to home. Stop thinking of the internet in terms of virtual reality and utilize it as it was meant... as a tool! You must first show someone face to face how exciting your opportunity makes you. ...then when the seed is planted cultivate it one on one and when your rep is ready to experience the excitement on their own... refer them to websites for extended training and information. They can also utilize their online presence to catalog and showcase products and services to potential new reps and consumers. The reason most people fail in Multi-Level-Marketing is because they distance themselves from the opportunity by keep their entire mlm structure on the web. Why if you live in texas would you want mlm reps in china that you can never talk to or have never seen?

I love free advertising! While you do have to do a lot of it to be successful it does work! I blast my add to a lot of sites and have done very well... keep in mind that writing good ad copy is very important. A well written ad is critical!
You should use conventional methods like warm market along with free advertising if you want to maximize your success and make 6 or 7 figures in this industry.
Here are some free advertising websites I use.

If you get your own newsletter and opt in subscribers, then you can follow up with them about your opportunity.
This has been a proven way of building your Online and offline MLM business.

I agree with Tal.
Most people on the net are searching for free info. Just provide them with quality content. Get their trust and intro your business to them.

Traffic Swarm, Facebook and Squidoo are other options to use to generate leads.

I have used rent-a-list (not an affiliate link) with some success in generating leads. If they opt in to what you are offering then they become your lead. I used target e-mail marketing.

As far as email marketing or solo ads go, I use Rent-a-list, Viral-URL, the Free Solo Ad Exchanges, and TopSurfer.com.
Other than that my main methods of traffic generation are using C.P.A. (cost-per-action) networks and Postcard Marketing (Direct Mail)

Someone above suggested pay-per-click advertising. I'd recommend against that unless you have a bit of experience. It can get rather expensive, and if you're not making a healthy profit margin, it can break your bank.

It's caled Attraction Marketing - Self Branding. In the old traditional business vernacular it's called "value added services."
Ezine articles (there are several good articles directories) combined with establishing a presence in a few key forums (such as this one) and publishing a resource blog that offers real value to the online community is hands down the best way to generate an unlimited supply of highly targeted traffic made up of qualified and motivated people who are serious about buying your product and/or joining your business opportunity.
The kicker is, it takes time to bear fruit. You can't go out and start a blog, write a few articles and show up in a forum or two and expect results overnight. Not Gonna Happen!
Self-branding takes time to accomplish. It requires consistant effort. You have to first get people to notice you. You do this by regularly showing up and consistently offering something of value. You have to earn their trust, more of the above, over time. Once people feel they can trust you, they will begin take a greater interest in what you have to say. They will begin to see you as a leader, someone worth listening to and worth following. Once this threashold has been reached, you will have more traffic and prospects than you can shake a stick at.
The key word here is TIME. It takes time for this to come together. But trust me, It's worth it. I haven't had to purchase a lead in quite a while now, and I get all the traffic and signups I can handle. I have people visiting my blog, then going to one of my capture pages, signing up for my free trial and upgrading to full membership, all before I even have the chance to call them. Why? Because I'm Mitch Hayes and people want to know what Mitch Hayes has to say. They want to know what business Mitch Hayes is in, and many of them want to join me.
I'm not being haughty, here. I'm nothing special. But I have branded myself by offering value. People are attracted to value. If I offer value, people will be attracted to ME. Quite some time ago, I learned this all important truth. "It's not about me." It's about "the customer." It's not about how much I need to make the money. It's not about how smart I am or how gifted I am, how knowledgable I am, none of that. It's about knowing what the customer/potential business partner needs, wants, desires and showing them how I can help them get it. Simple. Not Easy, but Simple!
Mitch

I may have missed if this was mentioned but one thing you want to keep in mind is once you get all this traffic where are you taking them too?
So you gotta work backwards on this.
I know my answer will be simple but its true. Most company websites WILL NOT CONVERT that well. You want to make sure you are taking them to a lead capture page so you can build your very own list.
Build a capture page (there are several programs out there that yo can use. If you don't want to build your own then find a software or company that already has some pre made that are totally generic) then drive traffic to it. Build a relationship with that list. Monetize on that list.
Hope that helps
