I found the biggest success to finding a successful MLM company is one that has a true product that millions of people need. That means not just one that people need right now, but one that will continue to be needed for many many years to come. What better product do people need than their own health and fitness? I will be the first to agree that there are scams and lies out there about MLM opportunities. Those were the ones that kept me from getting where I am now. I hope everyone else has the ability to get past the "bad apples" out there and find the right MLM opportunities. I'm so thankful to have found mine. Just keep searching and find something you believe. Best of luck to all of you! If you ever have questions please let me know.

I haven't been able to run into a lot of so-called scams, which is a good thing, but I do know a lot of companies with sneaky terms and agreements.
Make sure you read every word of those terms and agreements before you pay a dime. Some companies will make sure they don't have to pay you if you don't reach a quota (albeit small), which is just plain wrong.
Imagine you take a vacation and you lose all your residual income because you missed your quota by one sale.
Again, read the terms and agreements.
Also, you want to learn how to get your business presentation in front of as many targeted people as possible, whether it be online or offline.
If you can talk to 3-5 people per day, every day, then you will be successful.

ronniebranch: The Secret to MLM Success is learning how to market and how to keep your people happy. I think it goes one step further than that. The secret to MLM success is not just learning how to market but being able to teach your team how to market successfully.

Networking marketing has been around for better than 50 years. While average and ordinary people have achieved extraordinary income, average and ordinary people in general have not been able to achieve at least a 4 figure monthly income.
As great as mlm is, that's not good. What is good to know is that the compensation plan of companies has been the flaw. Regardless of the product. A great universal product is not a definitive key to success. Arguably it is not essential at all, as way too many successful legitimate business exist and thrive without some great universal product.
So, that leaves the secret to success starting with an opportunity that offers a lucrative compensation plan. And one that doesn't require a huge team to make at least 4 figures monthly would be key.
One things is for sure, 50 years of mlm tell us, that the opportunity is great, but that we need some new approaches for more people truly achieve some financial flexibility and freedom without needing a gigantic team.
I've found that most people just don't understand how to evaluate compensation plans for successfully building monthly residual income and too often get misguided with bonuses and slow residual income building.
A secret to building a monthly residual income business starts with knowing the simple path to break even so you can prosper. Of course this is applicable to any business.

There are alot of comp plans out there and some are very confusing. You almost need a lawyer to get through the legal terms. I have often complained about that but to no avail. There are hidden costs as well they don't mention either. Learning the language is a lesson in of itself. JMHO. Being in MLM or any business you have to know your break even point. Are you making residual income is utmost important to me. Some key things I look at in a comp plan:
a. What is start up cost? b. What do I have to spend to do the business (hidden cost or not) c. What is my break even point d. Do I have residual Income. E. How much selling or autoship do I do. (None for me) f. How much time is involved in it. g. Is this a consumable product or a one time sale. h. How many levels are there before you make any money? I. If I am not at a certain level can I be passed up and lose them? J. Is this something I am going to enjoy doing? K. Who am I going to be marketing to? l. How many people do I have to have in my organization to make any real money? J. How much cost monthly is it going to be? These are just a few to think about when you go looking at a business. There are more and I am sure some of you will add some. Hope it helps someone that is just entertaining the idea of MLM or any business venture.

The secret to MLM success is to 1) learn a duplicable system; 2) work it consistently & persistently; 3) help willing others to willingly do the same; 4) be patient and don't quit.
Pick a reputable company/products/comp plan you love.
And keep your goals away from the trolls! Don't listen to people who've quit dreaming - they'll only pull you down.

Good points here, but the thread was titled "The Secret to MLM Success".
Finding a great company is important, but it won't make you successful. So what is the secret?
1. Talk to people 2. Get better at talking to people 3. Talk to more people 4. Repeat
Exposure is what leads to success. The more you expose your business to others, the more success you will create ...

Hello To All,
The greatest secret about MLM/Network marketing is that there is NO Secret. It's all in the marketing. What worked well 20 yr. ago may not be as effective today. With the internet, what worked well yesterday; may not work well tomorrow. It requires us to constantly grow and educate ourselves. If you want to lose ground very quickly, just refuse to grow.
Education + Action = Positive Results!
To Great Results,
Marc LaClair

I agree with the original post. It seem s as if everyone is looking to get rich quick. A successsful MLM has a product that people would, even if they weren't involved in the business. MLM business take some time to build, even years. So if you're looking to "get rich quick", network marketing or MLMs is a business model that is probably not for you.

I don't think there is a secret to MLM success. Work hard and smart, don't give up, find a product and service that you love. We have all heard this good simple direction.
I am in the health and weight loss biz too. I love it but I love nutrition, exercise and being strong and healthy. If your passion is beauty then you won't enjoy writing about Vitamin D, Cinnamon for faster weight loss ect. And if your not having fun you won't be a success. After all, what is a success anyhow?
I work with people who still do home parties and only need some online automation and a little Facebook help. I am happy to help but I am done teaching weight loss classes. They are way too much work though I will still do one-on-one coaching for those who are truely motivated. Social Media and Video Marketing is my path to success.
But I am straying from the topic.
I also think personal development is crucial to getting the right mind set for all types of marketing but especially important for MLM work. It is so easy to be beaten down but well meaning friends, confused uplines, monthly fee's....
I love the biz. Would change it for the world.

I think the secret is to not have overhead costs and have a products that's easy to sell that you don't have to pay for. I'm with a reputable Energy Sales company and all we're selling is electric at lower costs and the only expenses that I incurred were the $49 to join....just my 2 cents.

I agree, joining a company with low monthly fees is smart especially if it is your first company and you are still learning or need to learn all the skills required to be successful in this industry. Just take your time set goals and targets...IN WRITTING, then work towards them.

There are many aspects to a good program or good results. However it will always come back to one important factor above all when becoming successful. That is you have to be able to network. Really network. This means talking to people. Learning about them and understanding them. Let them learn about you and understand you better. If you can gain a relationship with people and help them with real issues they are having then they will be far more likly to have faith in what you represent. Your name will spread and your reputation will grow.
If your downline can stay in contact with you. Your helping them the whole way and providing them with serious training and help then they will most likly stay the course with you and suceed. It takes a lot of work but it will pay off in the long run. Don't quit. Put the time thats really needed into the program and work with your downline everyday. Teach your downline to do the same. Your upline should help and guide you the same way. If your not getting that guidence then you picked the wrong team to join under and they wont do very well.
The biggest talent you need is to be a people person who can learn and solve problems.
