I'm a 19 years old guy from Mexico, who is about to join a MLM company (about $100 away from joining)

MLM caught my attention when i went to a family meeting in my aunt's big house, whose husband is a businessman who made his fortune along with my aunt in one of the oldest MLM companies (starts with A), i think they are among the top ten in Mexico

They invited my parents to the business about 6 years ago, but they didn't have the mind of an entrepreneur and i guess they joined the hype of get rich quick and failed shortly, they only bought the products for own consumption and thought the business was not so great and easy as they thought.

A few months ago a friend of mine told me he joined a mlm company, i told him i was interested and read how the business worked and i didn't like their compensation plan. Until i talked with my sister who lives in another city, and she told me about a similar company she joined a few months ago, but she stopped consuming the products because she thought this business was not for her.

I researched about her company and it turned to be the company im about to join, i liked the compensation plan and their products.

If it wasnt for MLM i wouldn't have read some great books (rich dad poor dad, think and grow rich, school of business) which opened my mind about the future that i dont have to be an employee for the next 30-40 years working 10 hours. (I used to think this was a good way to live)

The point of this thread was to introduce to this forum, i hope to contribute to this forum where i have read amazing tips about MLM that im going to use when i join MLM.

Some people do make money on MLM. It's not for me. I tried Amway years ago, and made no money. I prefer diect marketing. I get paid for what i do, not what others may or may not do. The important thing is to capture name and email on line with your own squeeze page, do not send your prospects direct to your company website. With their name, you can continue to market to them, as very few people join or buy on first contact. Why do you think the TV and Radio comericals are repeated over and over. With you own list, you can send your own messages at least 7 times over a 2 week period. That's the way to success. Bill

Hi Wazz66,

Welcome to the forum!

My first suggestion is to continue to read books like Rich Dad Poor Dad. Devour any motivational material you can get your hands on. Successful living starts with a successful mindset and most have to work at adopting a successful mindset.

The best network marketers provide tons of value with their content - blog postings, forum postings, articles, etc - while networking with influential people in the industry. Continue to meet and study experienced mentors and you'll adopt many of their traits.

All the best!

Ryan

First and foremost - no matter what MLM or other opportunity you join, research attraction marketing and free marketing methods (article marketing, video marketing, forums, blogs, to name a a few)! Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to MLM
Don't think that you won't be working hard.. you will, but the rewarding part is you'll be getting you rich, not your boss and the owners.
Def look up attraction marketing, it's one of the key things that gets people into your business... don't do the hard sell, you want to provide value and establish yourself as a leader and a personable person.. then you'll have them asking to join you in buisness. As you go along, you'll actually be at a point where you'll be telling people that you don't want them in your business.. that you don't think they're motivated enough to be in your business.

I find losing subscribers, if i send emails out more than 4 times in a month. I like to keep them waiting and because of this i have much better CTR.

But yes, your point of view is totally right. Its not good idea to sell something on your landing page. Provide value, build a big list, then turn that into cash.

Good luck in MLM Wazz66

Welcome to a great opportunity.

It's true, not everyone is cut out for mlm, let them keep their J.O.B.'s.

With hard work you can accomplish anything you desire.

Best wishes.

Hey wazza, Im new here also, But I would like to share a couple of things with you , I found that if master content marketing and basic Seo, You can attract alot of leads via natural Search Engine traffic., For now you should set up a blog via Wordpress - and just focus as much as your time on article marketing - As it is free and it fun at the same time, For me I outsource 97% of my articles and use a program called Automatic article submitter to get my content out there. I hope that helps

If you have any questions, Please just ask

Hi Wazz,

Welcome to network marketing, it's a lot of work but it's definitely worth it! No other business model can compete. I read that a lot of people here are recommending that you look into attraction marketing and while I do believe in it I wouldn't recommend it to you when you're just starting out.

First you need to focus on the basics of network marketing and the skills you'll need to be successful. Once you know that and you've got a little bit of experience, knowledge, and success under your belt then it's ok to branch out and learn about attraction marketing.

To get you started the right way in network marketing I would recommend the book, "Your First Year in Network Marketing," by Mark Yarnell. This book gives you a roadmap of your career in network marketing along with tips, techniques, motivation, and realistic expectations. Now you may be special and far exceed the average person but it's important to realize that you've entered an industry like no other and you'll need the training to get where you want to be.

Congratulations again! I look forward to hearing more from you on the forums.

Best,
Carrie Hogue

Great post Carrie and good advice. I too think the book is a must read for anyone in network marketing. After all...they key to success is to find successful people and follow them. Mark Yarnell has earned millions so he must know what he's talking about.

My background is corporate sales and I thought network marketing was sales in the beginning. After I had to rebuild my organization 3 times, I learned that it is not. Reading the book was the fist step toward opening my eyes to how great this industry is. It's required reading on our team.

To be successful we first have to believe that network marketing is a better way......because it is.

I am also fairly new to the mlm buisness but I'm already getting great results. I am the type of person who always has to have my ducks in a row before stepping into something. I have done alot of research and have been self educating for a while now and I know that it's important to produce leads via direct marketing on and offline and not just by "word of mouth advertising." By the way if you really think about it, it's not really word of mouth if you have a vested interest in it. It's selling cause you're not the neutral third party. So my advice to everyone who is just starting or maybe not having the success they hoped for, is seek knowledge. It's ok to invest in your education. It is the key to achieving dreams. Good luck to all!!!
