The thing is about mlm business is that people can have this overly motivation on their shoulders when they first join it, but after a month or so that whole motivation starts to slowly, but surely fades away. It can be frustrating if an individual doesn't know how to properly acquire online/offline marketing skills.

cebr2: Can someone explain how Multi level marketing works verus network marketing? Good question,
Technically, they are both the same. When the term MLM or Multi-Level-Marketing got tainted over the years, most companies shfted to the term Network Marketing to try and distance themselves from the negatives of industry. Bottom like, both are the same, no difference.
Success to all,

Wow ....
Just noticed today a few topics vanished and all my posts along with a few others totally went away.
Since I'm pretty sure none of my posts were "taboo" it appears there must have either been a system crash and some old back ups were used (based on the fact that my profile was reset back to very old settings) or...
Either way ... everyone have an awesome Thanksgiving with your family.
And remember to be ....
Thankful!

closerjim: a system crash and some old back ups were used Good deduction Holmes. Vishal posted about it but a spammer buried it 2 pages deep. Your signature links may have back-stepped also so check them.

So ....
The last post I had up, basically asked this question:
"Where does MLM fit in with business, when if something is GOOD, big companies will come in and knock off the product or service with their own version of ... better or cheaper or both to bring it to market."
How can companies like Amway ($5 to $7 Billion per year) Avon (over a billion per year) Mary Kay (over a billion per year) do that against the Este Lauder and Walmart and ...???
How does any successful MLM compete?
Come on people ... time to contribute. Time to THINK.
If you have no ideas ... and you're in an MLM now --- STOP. You have no chance of success (especially if you're in THIS forum!) as long as you're drawing a blank.
Or .... not willing to contribute your thoughts.
Here's a saying and then I'm turning this back over for input.
"How you do ANYTHING ... is how you do EVERYTHING."
It means ... when faced with an ACTION or DECISION moment in life ... whatever "inner tape" you plug in and listen to that makes you (rather talks you into) do "A" over "'B" --- is the SAME ONE you use nearly 100% of the time.
"Oh ... I read that post that asked me to contribute but ....."
"Oh ... I know I should be more (something) but ...."
If you don't break those patterns, you're stuck and will stay stuck.
Here's one more then .... it's your turn.
"What's the difference between someone who doesn't know HOW to do something and someone who DOES KNOW but DOESN'T do it?"
Answer --- nothing. They are both at a stand still and will stay that way until .....
Have a super week!

For those of you who consistently think that MLM online is not worth it and think that affiliate programs, such as through clickbank, is the better way to go....
You are wrong.
Read my 2 posts on the link below as to what I am referring to:
How Do I Pick A GOOD MLM COMPANY If Never Done This Before?

There is MLM and there is affiliate programs.
I really think that MLM online is the way to go. You just have to find the right company that has a good compensation plan and that it allows you and every affiliate to promote an opt in page that the company provides and then just focus on generating new leads every day.

An Affiliate program ....
Is just "MLM" without a downline.
Think about it. You (The Affiliate) get to sign up -- market something, there may or may not be a website provided and you drum up your own traffic and collect money on sales.
That's different from MLM ... how?
Right ... zero leverage.
You have no one else contributing to your paycheck. Unless of course you have a "2 Tier" system where you DO have one level of sub Affiliates working with you / for you.
Now you're really "MLM" .... without any depth.
What then ... WORKS to sell?
Something that GRABS PEOPLE'S DESIRES TO HAVE IT.
That's a start.
Followed by those same people NOT WILLING TO QUIT BUYING.
That's where a lot of programs fall down. The novelty wears off and the "psyched out on the product IDEA" wears off and they realize it's not doing what they thought it was long term.
Find something that continues to deliver ... and gets BETTER ... and you have something worth putting your hard earned money, time and energy and ... REPUTATION on the line for.

Major problem for new people is the upline tells them to make a list of 100 people, so after calling 8 to 10 and getting 12 no's the Newbie quits and another casualty for MLM.
Try to join with a coach/mentor who will guide you into a more sensible approach to sponsoring or recruiting, or being paid without sponsoring....is that possible? Well yes if you know the right programs.

Wellllll.....
Let's be factual here.
There is no pay without an exchange of cash for "something".
Can you make money without sponsoring? Yes ... it's called making a RETAIL sale.
Some programs like Lightyear Wireless make doing the retail sale approach make sense, as there is a clear difference in how retail customers are signed up vs reps.
Most MLM's though, make it NOT make sense to be a retail customer because for $FREE or $50 or so, the person can sign up as a "rep" or distributor and buy wholesale.
Is that "sponsoring"?
As for the make your list of 100 ... that is a topic for another post coming up.

What great suggestions Danny, although I think that most of us started that way. I know I did. If I can add some other points to consider when targeting our target market.
When matching our solution with a good niche we need to research a profitable niche and create everything around that niche. Not all niches are profitable. Most people have a target market but not a really defined niche.
There is much less competition when we talk to only that niche and expand our niche and target market when we need to. If not we'll be going up against some pretty tough competition.
A lot of newbies can compete with the successful marketers. We have to remember that everybody started at the bottom and not to get intimidated by people that dominate.
Everybody has something unique to offer or a different prospective. The mass target market niche people are going after will be attracted to them because of who they are. But people have to research and build everything around that research.
We can visit the top 5 websites for our niche to spot trends in our niche as well as even forming joint ventures with them. There might be a certain part of their marketing that they haven't fully nailed down yet or that we haven't nailed down yet.
We can even offer complimentary services or target somewhat different target markets. But yes, people really do need to find a targeted niche that is profitable and research what the competition is not doing so we can do better and work smarter making money faster and working easier. Thanks for your great post. I felt I had to add to it because It really is my passion. So glad to be able to read your posts.

This is very true. You have to stop chasing leads and attract them to you. This is the only way your going to be successful in this industry.

Then you should consider....
Joining one that does fulfill all the things that make success happen.
It's not a "one shot - you're done" game.
If someone wants success, then they need to keep seeking until they are no longer denied what they seek.
20 years in this industry, we've seen a lot.
Companies come, they go. People come, they go. Success is not something however that is "sacred and only for the few" --- unless a person makes themselves NOT in that class.
If you want it ... ask.

jbrownmarketing Totally agree for the first month I was out there chasing down leads randomly not really knowing what I was doing or who my target audience was.
Once I had nailed down who my target market was and what methods I could use to attract them, the game suddenly became a whole lot easier and I was able to move forward alot quicker.

When a person is new they must learn to detach themselves emotionally from the recruiting outcome.
A person says they will join your opportunity 0r attend a webinar.
then your excitement level goes up they don't then your excitement level goes down.
Emotionally attach yourself to the process of recruiting and not the outcome.
Don't quit it takes time, patience and persistent does have it's reward.
