You must always consider who your upline and support Team is, unless you are a strong leader yourself. A leader simply displays what is possible. If you can talk to people, and are willing to Display what is possible to the Team, then you could be the leader. For instance. Calling XX amount of people every day. MLM is about massive exposure. I'm not talking about Email Spam, but talking to alot of people. The "secret" is knowing who to talk to. if someone tells you to contact everyone that you know, that is the shotgun aproach. Yes you may get some, but they are not your target market.

Hi everyone. Wow! lots of info downiles and 80/20's and motivation which yes is all good information. Here's my take on things whether your building your business using offline or online the principle will always remain the same which is the value you provide and your communication skills.
There are 10's of thousands of people that are coming online everyday looking for other ways and means of building as the traditional methods they may be currently implimenting is just not working.
The main thing to focus on if you want to learn how to build your business on the Internet is lead generation and upfront profits. I believe there is no way any Network Marketer should rely souly on their downline company income and that having a lead generation system that generates consistent leads and cashflow is essential in today's current market.
There's a lot of hype out there so when searching for the right system make sure it's one that has proven to get results for it's members and has more than enough strategies and tools in order for you to see the results you deserve. Click below to see the system I use. [url=http://simplehomeleverage.com/]Simple system to generate leads and cashflow

Make sure you have their best interest in mind.

I find getting the frontline motivated to be the most difficult part. A lot of people get discouraged when they don't see immediate income and give up to look for something else.
I know this may sound a bit much to a lot of people, but personally recruiting 52 people into a marketing system that provides quality training is a good bet.
Teaching your downline how to build their own opt-in lists is a great idea as well. That way, they learn how to generate their own leads consistently and if everyone keeps motivated, there should be no problem building a successful downline.
Choose a system wisely though, because I spent a month bringing 43 people into one marketing system and not 1 member paid. Could be bad luck or poor targeting though.
These points are just what I have learned in the last 5 or 6 months. I hope you can make some use from them.

I find that when you see a good program, try to talk to the owner and your upline (the erson who referred you) ask difficult questions and probe them to satisfy yourself that the program is good and pays.
I have heard so many people program jump for the "get rich quick" ides, there is no such thing as most programs you have to work with to get them to earn you a great income.

Isn't that true of any business? No company can stay in business for long unless they offer good products that are competitively priced. Who would represent a company or a product they were not excited about - unless they were "scam artists?"
Having a opportunity attached to a product is the only way to build a business. An "illegal" scheme is when all the money is upfront. There is a difference. If the company doesn't grow by adding new members, there will be no company. Success depends on both - product sales and business building.

Never, never send your visitors or prospects to your company's sales page. Why? You lose contro. You don't have their name and email, and no way to follow up. Use a squeeze or lead capture page. and set up a pre-sell page. Everyone does the same thing, send them to the sales page and hope they buy. With their name and email, you can not only presell, but send follow up messages every other day, or third day. Stay in touch. Give them your email or phone and answer questions. You will create loyalty and increase your sales. People rarely buy on the first contact. Why do you think TV commercials are repeated over and over and over. With followup, you control. Thanks, Bill

I'm new here, so I hope I'm at the right place. I too feel that if the company is not offering good products then the business will not last very long. I do have a question though...I'm not sure if any of you have experienced this or not. I found that people get discouraged when they get a no. Isn't true that the more no's you get then you are bound to get some yes's? Should you just look at it as if you get another no, oh well, I'm closer to a yes?
Thanks, Sue

Hi Sue, that's a great question....what a great attitude.
As a former sales professional, that is exactly how we were trained and my mentor in network marketing trains the same way. It's a numbers game and, "even a blind squirrel finds a nut eventually." If you follow a proven formula, you'll be able to calculate how many no's you'll need to get to a yes....the law of averages. Most people don't keep going after they hear a few no's and so they quit....it's just too hard.
For example, if you need 6 recruits to create the income you want, that will take enrolling 40 new recruits because only 15% of your team will make you wealthy. If you are new and your skills are not polished, your closing rate will probably be 10%. It will go up to 20% when you are skilled. To enroll 40 new people, you will have to talk to 400 people and hear 360 no's.
When you look at the numbers and have the right attitude, the no's can be as exciting as the yes's because...as you say, "a no means I'm that much closer to a yes."
Hope that helps....much success to you,
Ginger Hogue

Hi Ginger,
Thanks for you reply. I didn't actually know how many people you need to speak to before you get a yes, so that is helpful.

Great Information. I discovered Voice Broadcasting several months ago and it has really helped my business. I am building a downline nationwide with people in CA, GA, MA and places I have never visited. With Voice Broadcasting, you can send out a message in your voice about your business or services to thousands of people in less than 30 minutes and it takes less than 10 minutes to set up the broadcast. People are removed if they are on the National "do not call list" so no spamming. If you have your own personal customers, you can stay in touch with them and inform them of specials, sales, new item, etc. This is a great tool for every business who want to Explode their downline or increase their sales. I also found a site which offers 5,000 free leads, so I broadcast to them and picked up new sales. After the free leads, the plans are reasonable starting at $9.95 a month for 1,000 leads. I also use it to broadcast for different businesses, schools and churches for a small fee - they love it. Schools and churches have to notify people if they are closed due to weather or remind people of meetings so they don't have to manually call everyone, they can do a broadcast and everyone is notified at the same time - incredible technology.

That is true.. If you do not believe in the products, your down line won't either..

where does one find voice broadcasting? Also, how can I find the site with 5000 free leads. I've searched different sites, but none came up with free leads, at least that were legit.
Thanks for your help and great information.

Excellent posts, all of them.
Your distributors will duplicate what you do , not what you say.

Our microwave society needs some crockpot mentality.
Most give up before they ever get started and thats why they fail.
You must be willing to do today what others won't so you can do tomorrow what others can't.

There are so many great ideas and suggestions here. My first visit, and I have yet to go through everything.
I have just a couple thoughts...
Although the difference is slight, I don't really believe we can motivate our team members. However, we can inspire them by example. When our team members see us succeeding by taking certain steps, it likely will inspire them to do the same.
Vital to anyone's success with their new business is staying in close contact with your enroller! It is not possible for your enroller, if they have a decent sized team, to call everyone to see IF they have questions or need help. Team leaders will help those who ask for help! Any good team leader will provide great support to those who show that they are actually working their business.
I ask my new team members to email or call me several times a week to let me know how they are doing with their training and getting started with their business. Those that do not do so almost always fail and end up quitting.
MLM businesses require teamwork. No one is meant to do it alone, and it is vital to your success.
