I'm about to choose a mlm to join. My question is, is Google Adwords a good way to promote it?

No, No and NO.

As i understand, you are quite new to Internet business etc. Then Adwords, is very very bad place to start. You can lose TONS of money, if you are not careful or don't know how it works.

See, you need to pay, for every click, when people click on your ad. Im 99% sure, you are not able to sort out, cheap, good and buying keywords, specially for MLM.

For example: lets say your MLM gives you $10 per sign up (just example), and lets say your conversion rate is 1% (you don't even know yours). To understand how much you can spend, per click, and not to lose any money is: $10/1%=0.1 it means you can spend 10 cents per click, if product converts at 1% and you won't lose much money (you can make some). Spend more than 10 cents...you are losing your money.

If you go with search engines, you can pay anywhere from $0.50 to $1-3 per click. And if this 1 person is not joining your business, you just lost money.

If you STILL, think Adwords are best option for you, go with content network. Use banner ads for Adwords. You can get $0.01 per click if you are smart. You banner will be shown on other MLM sites, so you have bigger chance getting traffic.

If you want me to explain you how to get $0.01-$0.04 CPC, i will explain. With $10 you can get decent traffic to see how your MLM offer converts. If its crap, then you know. If its awesome, use search engine ads.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Margo.
Take it from a veteran ...PPC is not a very fun classroom to learn in unless you have some cash to spend and substantial keyword research experience in your corner.

I've spent quite a bit of money before I found keywords that paid ...and even then it can be a battle.

If it's an MLM that you're promoting, I would recommend word of mouth, blogging, article marketing and patient, helpful forum participation to get your business started.

Best,
~Dennis

Thank you for the replies. Sounds too pricey for me. I'll keep looking into other options.

after the google slap and slapping i would avoid google. if you want to test the waters you can jump into bing/yahoo/facebook ppc as those are still pretty cheap and much more forgiving.

if you want to learn about google ppc start at the source. perry marshall.

I agree with mountainmom5. Dani Johnson has some of the best training I have ever come across. It made a difference in my business and helped me get to where I am now.

IF..

- You have the "marketing" budget for it..
- You get a specific training from proven experts...
- You learn advanced copywriting techniques..
- AND have a profitable back-end product..

..Then Yes..It's a good bet and one that I love.

As you might notice, there's a LOT of requirements to play the "Google Adwords" game to win..(Specially after all the slaps and mis-understandings)

The good news is that you can still promote your business through low or no cost strategies like: Article Marketing, Facebook, Press Releases, Forums, etc

Cheers!
