Hi everyone, I know my subject line might seem a bit negative but actually i'm hoping to get quite a bit of positive insight from this.
Some of us here have been doing online marketing for a long time, some are just coming onboard. But I'm sure all have had their little phobias past and present.
What has been your online phobia and if you've been able to overcome it, how'd you do it?
I know my ultimate phobia is talking to prospects on the phone.
I'm also afraid of writting articles (takes a whole lot of fore-thought to create a truly helpful article)
I'm looking forward to everyones imput, and suggestions.
-Luke

I don't know if I'd call it a phobia, but someitmes, you will put hours and hours into something and get nothing out of it. That's frustrating, and sometimes prevents me from doing the work I need to get done.

I have no marketing phobias or any other types of phobias regarding making money online. I just figure out what needs to be known and done to begin a marketing campaign.
I do have concerns though. I am concerned about each new domain that I purchase. I am concerned about profiting off each domain. I don't let that deter me though.
I just do the required research to acheive an adequate education for each concept. Then I plan everything well and just go about it. Planning and research are what you need for each project.
If you are weak in an area, then strengthen up!

My Marketing Phobia is not able to sell my products.
But phobia can be overcome by yourself. If you are willing to learn, you will get the result that you want.

Mine is classifieds...tried and tried to advertise via classifieds and only failed time and again at it. lol My solution? Well...I have a good friend who is excellent at advertising in classifieds...and she hates the advertising that I can do. Thus, teamwork!!! :-D lol (Not a bad solution, afterall! lol)
Great idea to make this thread! This could be quite a fun one.

My phobia was doing the same thing everyone else was doing. And not even doing the same thing so much as looking the same.
I now become sick when I get to a site and see a picture of a smiling guy in a corvette or some other ridiculous picture of someone trying to AMP me up. I don't like being sold too so I wanted to stay as clear away from that as possible.
My college marketing professor once told me I think to much... Which is why I don't like Marketing/Selling.

As a "newbie" to marketing, and just getting ready to break into the s business of my choosing in the next week or so, I'd say my phobia, or general concern is strengthening the people I am pitching the biz to, and not having the success to stand on... YET!!!
Plus, I don't lie well, so I won't boast (lie) about how good I'm doing, until I am. I think if your in the right business it should all but sell itself.
As far as knowing I will be a great mentor, and exert the extra effort to get my team, downline, etc.. into the big picture mindset, and get them to "see" their potential should prove to be my greatest challenge, and hopefully become my future strength.
Naturally, I'd love to just sell...sell...sell, but having a owned a small brick and mortar company/service for 18 years, I find most people don't have a clue about becoming entrepreneurial minded. Thus I wish I could hypnotize them all, unfortunately...I see teaching others as being the greatest investment, and fast track to freedom!!!
I have to wonder if this is a phobia, or a challenge I am prepared for?

I'm the same way. Sometimes I'm too scared to try something incase it doesn't work. I hate spending days on something when I get nothing in return.

My greatest fear is not getting paid for the work I've done.
It's happened to me a few times over the years. And when I'm doing work for a new client that anxiety is always there until I get the money in my hot little hand.

My fear was also getting paid for work done. Sometimes it was like I'd have this sick feeling until I received to funds. I'd be checking my account over and over and when I don't see the funds there, I'd think all types of crazy things. I guess patience was really my problem. I'm glad I don't have the problem anymore.
