Ive created a free program and looking to find out your thoughts on how the best way to market a free program. Im used to marketing a program where I lead with the value of the product so this is a bit different for me.

In a free program id imagine propsects are looking for different things than in other programs so any thoughts would truly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about generating traffic for it, you can do things like build a Squidoo lens, write some articles on Ezinearticles.com Articlesbase.com, and advertise on Usfreeads.com.

As far as getting people to sign up for it, you can try packaging the program into an ebook and give it away for free, and collect leads via an opt in autoresponder service such as Aweber.

Hi,

I would have to say that writing articles around your free program and then doing a search on places which will accept your articles for free, is a safe bet.

Good Luck

There are various websites online that are lists or directories of thinigs that can be found on the web for free. You could do a Google search for such sites and post your offer on those. You would definitely get some hits from that.

If you can get hosting write a free guide to go along with what your are marketing and make a .pdf file that you can give away free on your site - and think about creating a squeeze page to collect email addys.

Traffic Exchanges are the best place to market free programs.

People surfing for traffic can't afford to spend money on advertising so they have to click for it.

They also are very targeted because they are "trying to make money online"

Traffic exchanges work well for me with lead capture pages.
But I buy my traffic I don't have the patience to click

I think getagrip had some excellent ideas, especially creating an ebook. Good luck!
