I second Manowar's questions about Craigslist. I heard somewhere that if you post in too many areas that you'll be kicked out for good. I would like to know the rules before I break them and lose this great source of advertising.
Newbie Shield - why haven't you written a book with all your knowledge. You are always so helpful, we all appreciate your never ending free advice.

A friend of mine claims he boosted his online traffic by putting his url on just about every piece of paper he comes in contact with. Really. Everything: His phone bill before mails it, bank checks, business cards, basically anything he can write on gets his web address.
Why not?

Traffic is great and free traffic is better still.
But targeted traffic is the best of all. For that I'll always use a properly researched and constructed PPC campaign.
Sure there is a cost but you have far more control over who your visitors are and exactly what they want.

I would like to add;
Using an autoresponder for your lists.
Giving away free viral reports with your links.

I always keep cards with me or little flyer type items in my car. When I get out I stick one on the car next to me. That's it just one. Sometimes my wife will stick on on the car next her so 2 people and i've seen responses from this, not many but then the effort is very miniscule and it is free.

stumbleupon is generating a good number of traffic, but it is not a targeted one. It may be useful if the sites are for earning money through google adsense.
