To the moderators, I apologize if this comes off as a rant..

I understand some people are pressed for time and want to automate some of their marketing work load. I also understand that people want to take short cuts to add content to their sites or article marketing campaigns. But if you are going to go that route...do it ethically.

This whole "black hat" and "grey hat" marketing practices, although easy to implement, won't last. Furthermore you tend to tick off the very community you work alongside.

Today for instance, I have found one of my syndicated articles on another website. Great exposure except the byline was small than a sugar ant. Now granted this site abided by the TOS of the article site I submitted to, however it was done in a way to appease the system not ethics.

This is part of what gives the IM business a bad rap, just as much as some of the bad programs that are on the market.

Put in the work to build your business or outsource what is too laborious for you. If you are going to use automated software, make sure that you use it according to the TOS of the sites you are using it on.

And if you decide to use an authors article from an article directory, do the right thing and show the by-line as well. Who knows, you may get an offer to have an article written for free specifically for your site. Put down the black and gray hats and run your business with some ethics....

end rant

Well said Ken!

Regarding using articles, I had a pretty bad experience recently too. One of the authors had used my articles on his site. What he did was chop the article into two and use it as two articles and the bio was displayed only on one of them. He then linked the second article to first one to know more about me! Later he used more of my articles, remove the bio and linked both of them to the first one. When I threatened him about contacting his web host regarding plagiarism, he put up the links back but with nofollow applied to links. I wrote to him telling him to keep all the articles and put his name instead of mine as I felt I like a beggar asking him to keep my links. You cannot expect anything from a miser.

Moral - Some people only know to take but not give back. You can be successful, happy and experience abundance in life only when you give back more than you can take. This is the law of nature.

Look at the creation around. It only gives and wants nothing in return. See how blissful it is.

Look at human beings. It only knows how to hoard and destroy things. And how miserable he is.

Well said by the both of you!

It always seems that the crooked folks work twice as hard and do double the damage as those who live by a moral code of excellence.

I refuse to dwell on the negativity and negative people in the world. Negative energy has no place in my life.

I appreciate those that appreciate goodness.

Thanks to both of you for your inspiring words and attitudes.

~Dennis

I really believe what goes around comes around, so we don't have to do anything but keep on doing what we're doing the best we can. It only hurts us when we get out of sorts when wronged, not them they mostly have no conscious. I have complete faith that they will get a payback all by themselves.
