yeah...i think you can do a lot of things. Landing pages are important as well. You may need to build backlinks to a certain landing page with either a sign up (buy now button) or a lead caption page. You will do better with the buy now option. And, you need to know that for every 100-200 clicks to your landing page, it should result in a sale! So, all you have to do is get a good landing page and build about 40 backlinks to it everyday using forums and you should be find. Tell your downline people to do this too so you can get some more money!

It might sound stupid or unrealistic, but have you tried going to pet shops and vets around your area for possible sales? Home town heroes are sometimes welcomed. Good luck!

There is some great information in this forum. I would agree with everyone else as far as social media marketing, youtube, and article writing. Those are all good traffic drivers.
Here are some others.
Contact people with podcasts and talk radio programs in your niche. These people need fresh content/voices all the time. If you have an interesting or newsworthy story this is perhaps one option for you.
If you can sell your products on Ebay that may be a good way to drive traffic to your other site. So many people use Ebay, and I have found that you can often drive fairly targeted traffic from there.
Start a blog, create Squidoo Lenses, create hub pages.
Market through twitter.
Join yahoo, google, facebook, myspace groups related to your niche. You can also join Meetup.com groups and market to people in those groups.
Become an amazon seller. I personally have not tried this but a friend says she drives some traffic this way.
Press releases. You just have to think of legitimately newsworthy stories about yourself or your product. The most popular are always human interest. You say you have something to do with pets. Well, there are a lot of dog and cat lovers who would enjoy a good story about a pet.
Forums - are a great place to market but you have to avoid being someone who provides no value to others.
Directory submission.
PPC advertising.
I don't know what your budget is but if you have a decent budget you can do media buys CPM, CPV, Thrifty Nickel or Penny Saver ads, Newspapers, trade journals etc...
Create a Google Profile.
You can also do ad swaps, paid product reviews, and co reg.
Hope that helps.
This is a great forum by the way. Thank you all for your interesting advice.

Hi there,
In my opinion MLM is very tough for some people and actually i was one. thats why i decided to say forget it but since then ive learned alot and i personally know some very successful people in MLM companies.
You should look into writing artices and posting them on ezinearticles and the ton of other directories out there, if you hate writing hire a freelancer for 2-3 dollars an article. a good site to look for one is http://www.elance.com
Also you should get some videos made for you. if you dont have time to make them you can also hire a freelancer for that. by the way your computer should have some sort of movie maker already loaded on it.
And another suggestion would be to join lots of forums and answer different peoples questions. it helps improve your credibility.
Those are just a few method you can take if you need more please let me know.

The two things I would recommend getting would be a Lead Capture Page and an Autoresponder. These two tools will grow your business by leaps and bounds. Using these together you can capture their email and market to them over the course of months.
To your freedom and success,
Joel

Wow Danny,
Great post you have given me a lot of tools that I believe has been missing to my recipe. I have been studying the Affiliate Marketing thing for a while and have not quite gotten it together.
Any recommendation on how to find a mentor? Thanks

How about finding out who taught the BIG guys who you hear about most online? Maybe that would work. That's what I am doing, researching, researching and researching.

You can create a WP blog using a subdomain (keyworded) and post blogs and videos to it. Re-write 5 articles from one of the ones you posted on the blog and post those to high PR article directories and blogs. Link each one to the next returning back to the WP blog. This will create a chain. Keep doing this and it should help you get traffic and PR.

I'm not sure if anyone has gone over this in this forum. LOTS to read. But people need to build a client list. Building a list is VERY important. You can do ANYTHING if you have clients as they will listen to you and really take your information in. This technique helps me make an above average income per month.
Thought i would share!

Wow... this is quite a long thread with alot of great input. I've really enjoyed the content and learned quite abit.
While I do enjoy promoting our GPS tracking products, I am currently more interested and involved with recruiting independent sales reps and affiliates. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions as where to post ads, article,..etc to reach serious and motivated sales people.
Now... our products could be sold via MLM and Networking, our primary product for GPS vehicle recovery, is really aligned for a Biz2Biz or direct sales to established business'. Any input I can receive here will be gratly appreciated...

My advice to you is:
Learn more skills in getting quality prospects - the ones that will stay with you long term. Quality is better than quantity - 2 will bring you 4 right?
Treat your downlines as babies - be with them, train and care for them. Understand that they have doubts, discouragements, and other challenges, just like you.
Set smaller goals with them so you can show them "results". That will prove you as a great leader. This will make them future leaders.
When they have learned, push them harder to get their own success like you are a ninja master - they will understand and never leave you...
More power to you...

Good topic,
No doubt, there are many strategies to target your prospects, and with all the suggestions here, everyone can learn a thing or two. Sadly, the person with the pet products is evidently long gone for the link doesn't work, so like most, they quit before they even give themselves a chance.
We all know social media rules now, and when you analyze marketing trends like I have over the years, it all comes back to one thing, what worked yesterday does not mean it will work tomorrow when it comes to marketing on the internet. I have seen and used it all, and the trends are leaning in the direction of social media and magnetic attraction via videos on YouTube.
Why else would Google purchase YouTube, don't you think they know something most don't, like PPC is on steep decline as people become more knowledgeable when searching, and not clicking on all the fly by night ads of all the affiliate marketers promoting all the same things. I have not clicked on a PPC ad in past year, other than researching what others are doing in same business category.
Since everyone has to advertise and promote their business, you might as well not waste money, especially in a recession when everyone is trying to survive, never mind thrive. Social media is king, and I feel it will be for years to come. Check out YouTube-Zoom.com and learn how to present professional videos on YouTube promoting you business, and remember, first impressions are the most lasting, and with all the junk videos on YouTube, you want that quality attraction working for you, and that is your best face forward in the world of social media.
Success to all,

emmagirl Driving traffic online is actually quite easy, the use of video and article marketing will be your best bet. If you do the proper keyword research and find your niche market, you can bring loads of free traffic.

Try joining some forums that are specific to the whole internet marketing niche. Like Warrior Forum, Wealthy Affiliate. Just to name a few.
You can get a mentor here and learn from others
