So, I was thinking about creating a new source of income and I haven't tried blogging yet.
Before I engage into a new "adventure" I would like find out what you guys/girls think about earning money with blogging compared to static landing pages.
What are the pros and cons? What were the topics/keywords upon which you built a blog? Particularly I want to know how much do you earn and how long did it take for you to automate your blog.

I'm actually just getting started with adding blogging to the mix. I haven't' tried to monetize blogging directly yet, but I'm gearing towards it. Currently though, I'm just using it as a means of getting a few more links pointing towards another site of mine.
The obvious bonus of blogs over hosted landing pages is cost. You can easily set up a free blog on a number of sites. This is great if you are bum marketing, because you can essentially recreate something very similar to a landing page, but it won't cost you any money. You can then point any article and video marketing campaigns you have towards that blog rather than a product sales page.
Likewise, a lot of blogs tend to be less formal than sales and landing pages, which means you might be able to connect to your visitor on a more personal level...but that all rests on how you decide to set up your blog. If you are constantly blogging on one particular niche with good content and on a regular basis, you might be able to build up trust with your audience. You might not have that opportunity with a landing page. However, that is just one approach.
Anyway, like I said, I'm new to this myself, and I am just starting to figure it out as well.

Blogging has increased my signups measureably. Readers do want someone to connect to and if you can give people an idea of who you are in your writing, they will come back!
Take care,
Laura

I set up a blog specifically to promote a particular program, so it's debatable as to whether I'm making money from "blogging" or not. I do, however, think that it's a great way to go.
For one thing, blogs are much easier to promote on the web today. Google is very partial to blogs, and there are other sites like "Blog Catalog" that you can use to get more traffic.
It's just a really great platform. Take a landing page and make it into a "blog" and then all of a sudden you can "blog ping" it. Like I said, it's a lot easier to promote online than just a simple static page or site.
I say go for it and good luck!

Pinging your blog lets the blog sites know you have new content. Social bookmarking is taking over now though. If you are just starting, sign up with stumbleupon.com and mixx.com. You can "bookmark" new posts there but make sure to comment on other posts as well. They don't love it when you only bookmark your own stuff.
onlywire.com bookmarks several sites at once for you but you have to sign up at each first. Posttoaster is even better but there are so many sites to sign up with at first....I can't get through them all!
Best of luck,
Laura

Hi friend well i have never used blogs for earning so i don't have any idea of that. But, my cousin recently started to earn money online with cash gifting that was a real booster in his moral in the online world. I hope that you will find that useful too.

Hi Jernej,
Blogging is a great way to promote & brand yourself. There are so many ways you can generate traffic to your landing pages through blogs. This will give you higher rankings through Google as well.
Let me know if you would like more information about this, I would be happy to help.
