It can be done, but usually takes trial and error that cost. For many big.
I've used free advertising with success from forums, to articles, to free classifieds, and videos. If you are doing this you may want to start with free marketing first.

The reason for this is too many people lose money on Adwords as it can be rather complicated. Once you have earned good money using the free methods, and learning more about internet marketing in general, then you can gradually move into Adwords, one campaign at a time.

Google Adwords really helps to drive traffic. All you need to do is have a budget with it and choose the right keyword.

I like your site. It's cute.
On your home page, I would probably switch your content and featured products around. In other words, put your words at the top and the pictures of your featured treats at the bottom of the page.
Reason: google bots crawl form left to right, top to bottom. They can pick up and index your home page quicker. That's up to you if you want to change it or not.
As for advertising, think about who you want to target: just america, international, your local area?
Keep in mind that eBay has advertising. Myspace has advertising. Facebook has advetising. And even stumble upon had advertising. They're probably a little cheaper than Google Adwords.
I also think you should get a Twitter account. Add the link to your website to your Twitter and a Search.twitter.com for any other pet lovers, dog lovers, catlovers, etc.
You're going to follow a whole bunch of them. Half of them, will follow you back. Add some useful tips about pets in your tweets.
Better yet: go on to ezine articles and write a 300-word article about a dog tip, maybe a dog health tip or two. It'll take seven days to get approved. Once it's up, Tweet it. Write several articles as you deem necessary.
In the resource box, put the web address of your store. Only in the resource box.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Get a domain name, i.e. a proper www.dogjartreats.com name at Go Daddy. It'll be difficult for people to remember to type in that long URL you have.
To learn how to Mask and re-direct your URL to you new Go Daddy Domain Name. Here's a video that shows you how:

Adwords can be extremely confusing and costly for new marketers. You really have to know what you're doing when setting up a campaign. I would advise researching and gathering as much info as possible on how to best use adwords before starting.

Thanks

For video marketing, create how to videos. Google has started listing vidoes in their search engine result pages. Upload them to a few popular video sites like youtube and metacafe. Use SEO techniques like keywords in title, tags, etc.
