I have been doing some affiliate marketing and I think I am losing sales from people who delete my affiliate link. Anyone know of a good link cloaker? I hate the way tinyurl works. It redirects the page and then the user has to click an additional link to get to the site.

Hi Aldanson, You must not have tinyurl set up correctly. I use it, and have had no issues with redirects. The best way is to buy a domain and have it forworded to your affilate page. I use both tinyurl and I have 2 domains that are set up to forword. Just my 2 cents. david

You can get them at GoDaddy for just under ten bucks. You can type in names that sound like a fit for your site, and if they are not available, keep trying different variations until you find one that is. Then you can have it forwarded to the affiliate link. You can even mask it so the affiliate link does'nt show up in the address bar, though there are arguments on both sides of whether or not you sould mask.

like what many of you have already said, meta redirect will do the trick.
You should really only need to buy a link cloaker when it offers other functions like keyword tracking etc...

When you have your own domain it is very easy to use a page of your site to frame your affiliate link. You put a code into it your page so that another page shows up when people go to that link. It is very simple.
This is an example: (I changed it so the link won't be active here - this is for the sake of answering your question):
www (dot) residual-income-streams.info/recommends/submityourarticle
If you look at the source code of the page you can see that the page is "framing" another page, which is the affiliate page. I hope this is clear for you.

I just use my own domain-names. I don't like the look of these things like tinyurl and go2url, I think they look pretty unprofessional, actually - and they're a way of saying "I'm concealing something", which isn't exactly businesslike, is it?
I think you can forward a domain-name from any decent registrar, with or without masking, to any affiliate-site you want ...

Having a domain name is definitely the way to go. There is just nothing attractive or appealing about tinyurl.com/ir93
A separate domain name would be the most professional looking, but using an extension (yourdomain.com/extension) is also ok if you want people to also see your website and they can also click back to the affiliate from the main page.
I have also seen people use subdomains. These are still attention getting and are better than tinyurl, but I am not sure how effective they are (subdomain.yourdomain.com) These are usually used for blogs but I have seen people use affiliate links like this.
