Myth #3 - The Best Stuff Must Cost You Money
I built my business from ZERO. Eventually, after going a little nuts trying to figure out how I could be useful to the market...I eventually got it and started making some money doing affiliate stuff. That allowed me to buy some tools. How did I do this?
I used this formula:
ULATCM = KYEY + KYTM + Web 2.0 AB
Unlimited Leads and Traffic Chasing Me = Know Yourself/Express Yourself + Know Your Target Market + Web 2.0 And Beyond
We all want unlimited leads right? We all want tons of free traffic that already knows us, likes us and trusts us.
Knowing yourself is vital. Actually this part of this formula really deals with your own MINDSET. How many people bring the same broken mindedness to their online business as they had in their offline business? And they expect different results? Life doesn't work like that.
And if someone has a broken mindset...they will be stagnate and not do what it takes to be successful. And even if they do take MASSIVE ACTION, it will not yield results.
Have you ever wondered why some people work at something for hundreds of hours and get nothing while others seem to only work part time and get rich? MINDSET.
Expressing Yourself...in MLM and most affiliate marketing this is very important. Look at people like Les Brown and Tony Robbins. Watch the way they tell the world their stories. They are very compelling. You don't have to be a Tony Robbins to get rich. But you will have to be willing to KNOW YOURSELF and EXPRESS YOURSELF in a compelling fashion.
MLM'ers....do me a favor. STOP telling your recruits that anyone can do what you do. Technically, they can...but unless YOU are willing to be up front with them about their communication skills, you are only serving yourself by signing up people that are clearly not able to go out and sign people up. If you are going to recruit broadly, then at least provide a weekly sales training class or recruiting technique class or something to help them build up their skills.
Know Your Target Market - EASY TO DO if you know who YOU are. Because if you are running this model, your market is those that read your story and they say "Wow, he is just like me!"
If your message in where it's supposed to be (inside of your target market's i-conversation) then the RIGHT people will follow you.
Finally, Web 2.0 and beyond. It's only a small part of the formula. But it's may be the most difficult part to master. 10,000 different sites. Keyword research. html. css. content content content. Adding value in each market. backlinks. trackbacks. interlinking.
But you know what? You can either sit around and think that what you are doing is going to suddenly start working tomorrow...or you can start right here and right now learning this stuff.
Here is another iron clad formula you can count on:
Your Income = Your Weakest Link Want to improve your income? Improve your weakest link.

Thanks Danny - that was my nugget for today. That has been an area that has been a challenge for me - and I plan to go listen to some of those guys again.

That is a big reason why so many network marketer's fail. They are unable or unwilling to duplicate their success in their team. Quality training honestly makes all the difference in the success of business.

Interesting concept: "your income = your weakest link"!

Despite of the factors listed, the mind set of the individual is also important. It is easy to give up than to stay on.
