Do any of you guys have experience in flipping websites? I have several that maybe I could sell but don't know the ins and outs of doing it, although I have heard it can be some quick money for the ones I dont' want to keep messing with....
I have wordpress sites hosted on hostgator ... so that may be a problem, I don't know.
Any input??

I have no experience in this but I know that if you go to Google and do a search, you will find some decent info. I am sure you already know how to do it.

Have you checked out flippa.com? I think that seems to be the premier place to list your sites for sale that you no longer want. I would imagine that they have a list of instructions or guidelines to follow for the listing and that should help you out.
Blessings, Angie

Flipping is perhaps most commonly associated with real estate. You buy (or maybe you already own) a "fixer-upper" which you spruce up to improve its curb appeal and utility. Then you sell it at a profit to real estate investors or the public at large, based on its perceived increased value.
Similarly, a website is a piece of "virtual real estate" that can be positioned to attract webmasters and online speculators. If your site has a proven track record of earnings, or you can clearly show it has the potential to generate revenue, you can be in the flipping business.
Like anything else, it helps if you understand what to look for, what to avoid and where to seek help. And as Tal pointed out, you can locate very useful information via the search engines.
Here's an informative article that gives you a peek at some of what's involved in flipping websites for profit.

Thanks Hermas, What I am finding out , *I think*, is that in order to learn all the nuts and bolts of it , such as the transferring ownership, hosting etc, is to either just do it once or pay for some kind of tutorial that will walk me through each step of it.
Most people that are actually flipping sites aren't out there giving all the secrets away for free.

mountainmom5: transferring ownership, hosting etc, I have transferred many sites by just changing the owner info at GoDaddy. Some were sold on Craigslist, others were tied to businesses that were sold. The hosting issue is not as cut and dry since I hosted most of them. I always give them the option to use another host and give them the files. It's really not complicated or a lot of paper work depending on the content. Sometimes there are copyrighted properties that need legal transfer, like pictures. I'm no expert at it but have done it many times with no problems.
mountainmom5: just do it once

Just2EZ: copyrighted properties Those include registered business names and such but a bill of sale can suffice.

That may be true, as far as specific website flipping strategies are concerned, but transactions such as transferring hosting and domains in mid term are not exclusive to website flipping.
Those are routine exercises conducted by busy webmasters and online professionals every day.
There are lots of free video tutorials available that show you how it's done, and the process is very similar for most web hosting companies and domain name registrars.
Here's a YouTube video on how to transfer domain name ownership.
Here's a HostGator video on how to transfer hosting.
And here's the link to the entire complement of HostGator video tutorials.

Website flipping is the process of buying a website, doing it up, then selling it on again for a profit. Online marketplaces like webchalkboard.com are great places to pick up a bargain and work your website magic on it to improve it's value. Other marketplaces include sitepoint.com and ebay.co.uk

I bought an SBI site but that is easy as you simply change the ownership info on it.

So let me see I've I've got this....
Transfer the domain name ownership to the new owner (via Go-Daddy or whoever you bought it through)
The new owner will have to change the nameservers at Go-Daddy to their new host
If you are dealing with Wordpress you export the file and send that to the buyer - the buyer hits import file when their WP site is set up.
Make sure that you have the right to re-sell any graphics.
That it for the technicals?

Flipping blogs is the best way to go, so what you need to do is build a few blogs, add the top plugins, including an auto post content plugin.
Then add some adsense, clickbank, amazon affiliate ads, then start driving some traffic to it.
Blogs are very easy to get positioned and ranked in google, so when you start seeing some regular traffic and affiliate earnings, then flip it on flippa.com.
