So I submitted my first article to them and waited and waited and waited to get a response. When I went back to log in, they said my article appeared to have been written by someone else. And it wasn't. It is absolutely mine...I contacted them but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else have this experience? I am thoroughly annoyed.

No, I have never had that problem. Did they give you the opportunity to correct it? Anytime I have made an error they send it back to me, I fix it and resubmitt. My articles are always approved within 48 hours and have had them live in just a few hours. What is did you write in your bio box? Did it reference someone other than yourself, that happened to me once, as I was referencing the author of the book I was promoting. I just changed the bio box and it was live in a couple of hours.

No, they didn't even contact me to let me know...I just went to log in to see why it was taking so long to approve and they had disabled my account! Nope, my bio box was me...and I wasn't promoting affiliate networks or anything like that...so no flags there.

It sounds like there was an error on the other end. Hopefully, they can get it resolved for you.
I would try to contact them again and be very clear that you have written your article yourself. Can you ask to see the other article for comparison?

Okay, so we got it figured out. The article I submitted I first wrote three years ago and had posted on a forum. However, it was attributed to my username not my personal name. So they thought I didn't write it. I had to go back and edit the post from 2006 to reflect my name and they said they would re-review.
I just wish they had contacted me first. And we wouldn't have to go through all of this back and forth of me proving I am who I am.

SueGriggs: Is it really that bad Not at all! I was just joking about the hair thing.
For me writing articles is really an enjoyable activity. I can start writing after being inspired by an article title on something unrelated to my subject, or recalling a life experience that parallels a marketing principle, or overhearing a comment while going about my business.
Simply researching a topic to get current information can be an interesting and rewarding experience too. I often see several angles I could use to convey my ideas and stir up the reader's interest.
The payoff comes in the satisfaction I get from seeing the increase in article views and the sales that are made as a result.
I still get traffic today from articles I published way back in 2005. That's the beauty of article marketing: Do the work once, get paid for it over and over.
So what if you lose a little hair in the process!

I thoroughly enjoy Ezine even though they tend to take more time. 250 words is really not that much and you can put a lot of solid content in with less than 500 words. My traffic has increased more there than with any other article sites.

Hi Happygal,
I experienced exactly the same problem as you.
I went over my article and changed a few words, for ex. where it said, 'make money' I changed it to, 'earn money' and so forth. I then received a reply from them and they wanted to know something in particular with a sentence I had written.
I proceeded to delete it instead of waisting time changing it again, and I submitted my article to them one more time, this time it was accepted.
All along, I had never copied it from nowhere.
Revise your article or have a friend read it. They might be able to tell you something you have missed.
Hope this helps a little.
