You have to be very consistant with article marketing.. Its more of a long term form of marketing.
I hire people to do that kind of work for me but generally its a powerful form of marketing.. If you write 1 article a day for around 6 months you should see good amount of traffic
Submit those articles to 10 article directors and direct them back to a blog or social media page.. thats what recommend
Good Luck
lathalukose: Hi, I came across article ,marketing and was wondering if it actually helps make money. Is there any other free way?

Dan_dare: ... but when you have something different and new.
I've volunteered to help promote a farm that is for sale, so I've created a Squidoo lens about it.
The farm is in rural Australia and is pretty big. Initially, the owners have been using the traditional method of advertising through a real estate agent on real estate websites but I though I might try using the online marketing techniques we've been learning about (e.g. article marketing) to help.
Do you think it could work? How would I promote the article so it can be seen by people who are looking for something like this?

Hi Biz,
Great idea and it might work. Lots of real estate folks use Squidoo to drive visitors to an preexisting listing on a different site. Some may even list the property directly on Squidoo.
You can do both if you like on a single lens. If you do, just place a "for more information" link on the lens.
Be sure to use a keyword phrase that potential buyers would use when in buy mode for a property like the one you are offering.
You can use the free keyword tool by Google here:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
The demand for the phrase should be reasonably high (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand or more) and the competition should be low (very little green or no green on the bar).
You might also use Ezine Articles if you think you can write some enticing copy about either the listing page, the property itself, or both.
Hope that helps,
~Newbie Shield~

That could really help sell the farm but what you should also then do is get a link to the article onto the estate agent website so that people can read more about it, history, what there is to like about it etc.

businessonapage, the nice thing about squidoo is you can make multiple lenses even if it is on the same topic. Everything deals with using the best keywords. Newbie Shield gave you an excellent site to check on the keywords you can use. If you make several lenses and are able to write articles using the keywords then you will be able to increase your chances on selling the farm. Hope the best to you

Well I'm back after a long stint of writing and teaching and learning. Last I was here I was using GDI and had started trying my hand at "article marketing/affiliate marketing" and now I'm a FIRM believer in it.
Newbie that little project has made me more $ than GDI ever could have in a year. Literally I'm beside myself with just how effective it has become. I've tweaked some of the more conventional methods of creating traffic using articles and it's working out really well.
Right now I'm teaching the method to 2 volunteers I picked up in an unrelated forum who wanted to learn how to make money online. Once I can prove with results that the method is teachable I plan to market it on its own.
As for article marketing for other NON affiliate type products that works out well too. On the same forum I picked up the two people I ran into a guy needing help promoting his site and offered to lend him some advice on SEO and on how to use my method and its working wonders for him.
Gavin, I would advise NOT to submit to multiple directories. I've not personally had any luck within any of the projects I've undertaken with generating the type of traffic I do with a simple ezine article. As for the long term as well I agree but will say that my most productive articles are articles I wrote several months ago and have not pushed or promoted them other than the first week they were published.
My primary reason for always joining MLMs was the reoccurring "residual" income. With article marketing you do experience this as well because your articles are ALWAYS there and will always be working for you. That being said I don't have time for GDI anymore and will most likely send a message out to my downline that I am going to go dormant, I'll keep the site up but more as an information page. (sadly I haven' tupdated my site for GDI in about 5 months
Thank you ALL for the help over the last year or two since I arrived here. EVERYTHING I've learned on THIS forum has gone into helping me become successful online. I couldn't have done it without the input of everyone on this site.
Thank you.
Vishal...thank you for the forum.

Also, the fact that you are helping others to do what you've done speaks well of you. I hope you continue to thrive!

Thanks everyone for all the motivation. I have started writing a few articles and posting them.
2 have been approved but I am not getting any clicks, well very few.
Also, I posted in ezine articles. Which others are good for traffic. I want to post in a few only.
Also, how do you rewrite articles. The first one is easy but I cannot think of ways to rewrite and post a second one.
also, can I use the same article I submitted on my blog or squidoo lens?
Last, how many article are needed for each affiliate product. I know there is no formula but I have written 5 for one.
I am not happy with the conversions I am getting.

Most people who actually pursue article marketing write 100's if not 1000's of articles, they do it a number of ways. They outsource, they use tools like spinners and UAW, they hire ghostwriters etc.
You have to keep practicing and working on the resource box. It's good to read and check out EZA articles, especially their resource box it takes some doing to get click thru's.
There is a lot of work to be done in article marketing it isn't easy, so if you plan to keep it up prepare yourself to do a lot of writing or find other methods to crank out tons of articles.
The good news is the better you get the less of them you need to write because you get better and it doesn't take as many articles to get click a lot of thru's.
I always submit original articles to EZA, then if they get good views I may submit them to goarticles and maybe on my blog. My lenses are all original as is my blog. I always change them up a bit so that they aren't exactly like they were. Sonni

You can write article sets 3 different ways.
1. Aricles sets by topic or sub-topic
Example: Writing about racquetball, you can write 2 articles about racquetball nutrition, 4 articles that go in to detail about each color of each ball and the meaning of that color, and a 10 pack of articles on forehand and backhand drills.
2. Articles by style of writing
Example: One style can be bullet points, you can use lists, Q&A approach (people love Q&A articles), conversational or discussional style on issues. Each type of writing is best done in sets of the same style. 3. Accidental article sets
You write an article and just can't stop typing because you are on a roll. Before you know it the article is 800 to 1000 words. You can cut it in half and give the other half a new title and you turned one long article into a set.
4. Articles based on customer or prospect FAQ's
Example: Customers and prospects are always asking questions. Tune into them and group them by topic and the hammer out some article set that answer each question. Back on the racquetball illustration, let say you might have done research and found 7 frequently asked questions about the topic from your audience on how to prepare for a tournament. Each of them has the potential of making excellent article topics.
Normally ezine, go articles, and whoever else you use like you to change up your article about 75% when you rewrite one. So hopefully these tips will help you to expound on your topic and branch off from it.

I just wrote 10 articles about how to stop dieting and start living the 100 calorie way to promote my book eBook The 100 Calorie Diet. I am in the process of submitting them to 10 article companies (not easy since I'm a novice internet user!). I've been approved for 9 articles through isnare and 2 through ezines and am waiting for more approvals. I'll let you know how that works out for me. My goal is to write and submit one article a day, but it's a lot of work if you want to do a quality article. I'll keep everybody updated!
Thanks! 100CalorieGirls

mountainmom5: Yup, it sure does! Here's a trick, though to help you with that... 1) choose a keyword phrase or search for on with the free seobook tool... 2)set up a blog or Squidoo lens with that exact same keyword phrase 3) write a few articles with the very same keyword phrase and link back to your blog with the article 4)from your blog you can then link to all kinds of websites, or pages. Some article directories won't let you link to a squeeze page or landing page so if you have something like that you will want to set up a blog first and use that as a hub - actually you can also use hubpages for that. This is perfect. This way you will get ranked in the search engines on the 1st page depending on what keywords you chose. I would suggest long tail keywords, not short tail.
I've done this and for a lot of my articles I am ranked in the top 6 spots on the 1st page of google. Your keyword research is IMPERATIVE.

One of the 'keys' to effective article marketing is doing proper keyword research before you even begin. Then base the article title and content around your chosen keyword phrase.
If done properly you'll get search engine traffic due to the PR of the directory. The more traffic, the more clicks, the more sales.
Also, make sure you are using keywords that focus on people getting ready to buy. Go to andrewhansen.name - he has great free information on effective article writing.
As for directories, check out buzzle, goarticles and articledashboard to name a few. Goarticles is nice because you can use affiliate links in the article body.
