I have been getting leads as a result of advertising my various affiliate links to build a list.

While I had a list of less than 200, I had no trouble sending out periodic messages. But now I'm heading towards 500, and to make matters worse, I have badly broken my wrist so typing is reduced to one finger for as long as 8-10 weeks.

I know what you are going to say; use an autoresponder. I already have two of the best, but when I put my leads through them I get less than 10% who will take the trouble to reply to the varification process.

Yet, when I answer myself I have had only 3 unsubscribe responses.

I cannot be the only person with this problem!

How does everyone else handle it?

I feel like I have only two choices. Either let the autoresponders burn the leads, or let them gradually lose interest through neglect.

So I ask you, under these circumstances, why bother to build a list?

When I was in EDC I was told that I needed a Aweber account which was totally false, I found these auto-responders very hard too configure as I have a vision impairment & I did not get the support I was hoping for, I would like too stress that this has been my experience with this kind of service but everyone would have their opinions of this feature.

My list isn't that long yet but can't you send one personal letter to all of them thru your autoresponder? I know that I have sent out quick emails to my list thru using the bcc function on my personal email - kinda like sending out a forwarded email but that is a lot of copying and pasting once you get over a hundred - lol!

I usually just send out an email blast thru my autoresponder but I am not really focusing on that right now as I never had a lot of response to email marketing myself.

I think if I had to type with one finger I would write some articles and try to generate fresh, new traffic to my website rather than try to sprinkle a little water on old dried up traffic - lol

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but perhaps someone will stop by soon and help out here - hope your wrist heals up soon!

As I already mentioned, the leads are not in the responder, they are responses to my email from buyers of my products.

When I enter them into the responder the responder sends an email to my leads to verify that they really are my leads and none of my buyers, except for 4, have ever answered those emails.

Until they do, I can't do a blast.

Hence my dilemma

I believe that is the only way that you can do it. You either have to send them somewhere where they can opt in to receive your e-mails from the auto-responder or you will have to keep doing it through your e-mail account. The reason for that is that places like Aweber or really any other auto-responder has to protect themselves from spam complaints, so the person who opts in has to confirm it in their e-mail, kind of like a double opt in. This is so a person can't say that you were spamming them, because Aweber has proof that they agreed to get messages from you.

It is unfortunately a tedious process, but if you can get your opt in set up for the future that will help with new people who want to be on your list.

Now I am not 100% certain about this, but I am pretty sure. I know a couple people who are trying to do this right now as well.

Sounds to me like an autoresponder is not what you need. The "primary" purpose of an autoresponder is to send out a predefined sequence of emails--mainly to leads or prospects.

Good autoresponders, like Aweber, also allow you to send out "broadcast" messages which are ad hoc messages you send to your list when you want to.

This ad hoc message capability, it seems, is what you want for your existing clients.

You probably need a bulk mailer or email blaster, not an autoresponder.
