hi everyone!
it seems to be quite a split here on whether or not to use twitter to advertise.
im an affilaite marketer just starting out and i hadnt considered facebook or twitter as sources to advertise.
if anyone has had any great success with these tools let me know.

Twitter is my #1 marketing tool.
The key is to tweet content. Throw in your squeeze page every once in a while. Content means helpful links. Anything that demonstrates your expertise. I tweet the heck out of my blog and articles. I've set up a list of tweets which I hit once to twice a day.
RT and engage. When I began to RT I grew my following substantially. Sharing is caring and RT'ing is the best way to share. Even if you don't get an opt-in you'll receive a high number of clicks when frequently RT'ing, which can boost your position on google.
Say Thank You to each person who RT's you because they have expanded your presence. Once you'd learned the proper twitter etiquette it's relatively easy to boost your following.

Think about Twitter as a place to let the people who care about what you are saying hear what you are saying. Think about it from their perspective. It isn't an ad posting board.
If you have information that someone wants to hear, let them hear it. Don't think of it as a way to tell people what you want them to hear. Does that make sense?
