I am really so surprised at the number of marketers using videos now. I find most of them so incredibly dull and boring and I find myself wishing I could fast forward to the 'meat' of the topic, much like I scan pages looking for exactly the info I want.

Youtube is no doubt entertaining and I can get lost there watching videos for quite sometime; however.. marketing videos? What could be more boring? When I hit a page with a video, 9 times out of 10, I will close the page. Surely I am not the only one.

I am really curious as to how successful you find video marketing compared to simple text. Anyone care to answer that?

well i have about 25 videos floating around. If you make the video showing text and audio, you can make alot of them. I have 2 of them on youtube but ive gotten only like 8 clix in 3 weeks. Although i should point out that i got the last 4 clix last week because i started promoting them.

Heres the deal. Just putting up a video wont get you traffic. I find that i had to promote those 2 videos in order to get clicks from youtube.

I've also been thinking of video marketing, seeing how I'm good at doing videos. I've done my church's production for 5 years now, and I'm good with green screen and visual effects. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, and though it was expensive ( $800 ), I think its the best out there and easiest to use.

I've heard that video marketing is the way to go, guess I'll give it a try soon

I use windows movie maker. If you have windows xp it comes with it for free. Its great and from there you can upload it on to you tube.

The most effective use of videos in my experience is
to communicate or re-enforce the sales message...
on your site.

It takes some savvy to know how to get your videos
watched on YouTube and others - do it still, but putting
all your eggs in that basket is unwise for many niches -
for others it can be more effective.

I've been using video for a few years with my marketing.
I keep getting better and better and more focused in
terms of what result I want - and I get the result more
often too... in terms of opt-ins, sales, or educating
my customers.

Just like anything you get better with practice.

I would recommend against basing your whole marketing
strategy around social video media and making talking
head videos to share with network marketers via
YouTube - the situation there has got kind of silly.
