Have you looked at the 30 Day Challenge? I think its like 30dc.com or something like that... I haven't used it but have heard it is a great way to learn and it's free.

This may be the link... I think I can give it here as it is not an affiliate link.

No, it is a good idea to not have one, I think, as when you go thru the first few days of training, you start getting some ideas of what you could build a site on.

The options are endless on what you can build an SBI site on and make money with it... but I would recommend it being a topic you can be passionate about as you will be adding a lot of content to your site.

Have you checked out the free training videos that SBI offers? I have a link to it on the first link in my sig... you may want to kinda wade thru that first and get a feel for it.

The 5 Pillar program is their affiliate program where you can market the SBI program and make commissions. There is some training in there on how to do affiliate marketing I am sure but I have never looked at it much as I never made it much of a business to try to make commissions off it.

I'll just send you the link to the free affiliate masters course they offer and again, I didn't take that course myself as I learned as I went after I signed up for the SBI program and started building my site....

But it is free so it is probably a great idea.... I just didn't think of it myself when I started, mainly because I was in contact with happywife and I knew what she had done with it and all I knew was that I wanted something to help me build a website.

I was excited about SBI but after more research I don't trust it!..Like Brian I would like talk with a person and not depend on ppl pumping the program here.

If you mean you'd like to talk to a person from SiteSell, the company that sells the SBI package, you can certainly do that. They have a toll free customer number, or you can shoot them an email.

Just go to the SBI page and you'll see a toll free number and email link at the very top and very bottom of the page.

By the way, I consider myself to be a "person" and I have 5 SBI sites. I wouldn't be so foolish as to keep purchasing SBI packages if they were not a trustworthy company that delivers what they promise.

Bottom line, though, YOU have to do the work and follow their instructions.

Blessings,
Angie

I know this thread is somewhat old, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents worth. I am also an SBI user, and took the monthly payments option. I love the ease of use and all the great information that SBI offers to you. The only problem that I currently have with SBI is the fact that I can now build a website in about a day. With SBI, it takes much longer than that. However, that being said, if you do not know anything about how to build a website or where to begin, then SBI is a great way to do it. No matter, which route you decide to go to build a website, there will always be costs related to domain registration, hosting, etc. Everything is included in the price with SBI.

Thanks Angie - I was hoping you'd stop by. Angie is the SBI queen!

Interesting observation. However, SBI is not about building a website. It is ALL about building a successful business. There is a huge difference in those two concepts that most people don't realize.

Yes, there are plenty of ways to throw up a site in a day or so (you can even do that for free) - the web is filled with millions of sites like that. But, those sites are NOT successful businesses that are making their owners an income.

A successful online business has to be built properly over time, just like an offline business. That is the purpose of SBI. In this current internet climate, the name would be better served as BBI (Business Build It) rather than SBI (Site Build It). I think that would cut down on a lot of misconceptions that people have when considering a program like this.

I agree. Just because, I have gotten to a point that I can build a site in a day or two does not mean that is where it stops. It does take much longer to get a site to a point of making money with it, and there are a lot of other things that must be done to promote that site. A lot of the sites that I am building are solely for flipping them almost immediately, so I do not have to do much promoting on those because the buyer buys them as is "A Newly Established" site. I take much more time and focus more, when it comes to a site that I am keeping for myself.

I have wondered about that - would you be willing to share a bit how you do that or shoot me some info thru a message?

Aha! So you're one of the sources of those millions of unsuccessful sites!

Seriously, though, I hope your buyers have an understanding that it takes much more than "owning" a website to have an online business and that you are providing them with a solid and legitimate plan for turning the flipped site into a viable income for them.

I know so many people come online in their desperation to earn some extra income in these difficult times. I feel so sad for them to be wasting what little money they do have on false hopes because of their own lack of knowledge combined with a lack of transparency on the part of other online marketers.

I'm not saying you are doing anything "wrong," of course, but I would encourage you to be as forthright and helpful as possible to those buying your sites if you are not already doing so.

Blessings.
Angie

I do a little promotion with the sites that I am flipping prior to selling them. I just don't do as much with them as I do on the ones that I am keeping for myself. However, I do make sure that my customers that buy the sites are more than able to contact me with any questions that they have about how to make the site work for them and make them money. I share any and all information that I can with them, and for the most part my customers stay in contact with me, even after the sale is complete.

I would never just take someone's money, and then just drop out of existence to them. That is not the type of person that I am. As a matter of fact, after all is said and done, I do not try to make hand over fist in profits. I do not try to price gouge like a lot of sellers that I have seen. I have wasted a lot of money over the years myself on things that never panned out and on programs that had a lot of empty promises and absolutely NO support. I figure that if I help as many people as I can succeed, then success will naturally come to me. That is the way we all should be living our lives and running our businesses. Customer Service is my #1 priority. That is what keeps any business alive, whether it be online or offline.

Part of the pleasure that I get out of doing what I am doing now (building and flipping sites, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, etc.) is being able to help other people succeed. Seeing them succeed is what puts a smile on my face, so please do not think that I am one of those people who do not care whether someone is successful or not. That is a long ways from being true.

Hi Jennifer,

I am so pleased to hear you say that! I agree wholeheartedly, but unfortunately there are so many online marketers who lose their conscience (or so it seems), perhaps because of the faceless nature of the web.

Knowing that you are following up with your buyers to make sure they have every chance for making real progress is so encouraging. I wish you all the best with it for your (and their) continued success!

Blessings,
Angie
