You should always hold your baby during a feeding. Even when he is older and able to hold the bottle on his own, you should continue to hold him and avoid propping the bottle during feedings.
Also, hold the bottle so that the tip is always filled with formula. This will prevent your baby from swallowing a lot of air.
Burping your baby every few ounces can prevent stomach distention and discomfort.At first, he will be feeding on demand. Later you can get on more of a schedule of feedings every three to four hours.

Feeding your baby in the womb is as important as after the baby is born. This means, of course, feeding yourself well during pregnancy. The equation is simple when it comes to feeding a dependant baby inside the womb. A good healthy, well balanced diet for mum will mean a good healthy balanced diet for the growing offspring.

I wish the heading was different. Breast milk is the best milk. Feeding with a bottle can cause many problems. It is better to avoid them as far as possible. Till six months breast milk can take care of all the nutritional needs of a baby.

Yes, it is absolutely true that mothers milk is best for babies. It increases immunity. But, after six months, you may have to use bottle and there are many reasons when mothers can not give milk to their children because of some diseases.

I was only able to produce milk for three weeks so I had to switch to formula. Breast milk is the best, but about the time I stopped feeding my baby formula three years ago (yes, she is four now and a handful to say the least) and switched to regular milk (cow's milk), there was a new ingredient that they were putting in formula... something with a D, DHT or something... supposedly more like real breast milk.
I hope DHT is not some kind of poison. lol.
