Work at Home Moms
If you're a mother, it can be difficult trying to meet the demands of a full time job away from home and raising your children. For this reason, many mothers are finding ways to work from home, allowing them to maintain a career and achieve an income while still being able to put their children first.
Raising small children who are not in school is a full time job. Therefore, although working from home makes raising your children more manageable, you need to understand that if you have young children who are really dependant on you, you probably won't be able to take on a full time career even if you work from home.
That being said, the following are some excellent ways for a mom to make money at home:
Mystery shopping - A mystery shopper is someone who pretends to be a regular customer and calls or visits businesses to evaluate their experience. Mystery shopping is used by many different industries including: restaurants, retail, financial institutions, manufactures, entertainment, travel, and more. It is a way for businesses to discover how they are doing and what needs to be improved.
A mystery shopper is provided with a report and is required to fill out a questionnaire based on their experience, and are paid for their time. Mystery shopping is a great way to make a little extra income, and the best part is you can usually bring your children with you if you are required to visit the business.
Children's daycare - Since you are already watching your children, you may want to consider opening up your own mini daycare and help out other working moms by watching their children for a fee at your home.
Affiliate marketing - This is a great way to make a little extra cash with very little effort on your part. Essentially, affiliate marketing is a revenue sharing system between two websites. The affiliate site (your site) provides free advertising for the affiliate provider and is assigned a free unique link by the affiliate provider. The affiliate is compensated for the advertisement space on their site when a visitor:
- clicks the link
- clicks the link and purchases something at the site
- clicks the link and registers with the affiliate provider
Depending on the affiliate provider, an affiliate may be rewarded for one or all of the above.
For instance, let's say you have a website that provides people with information about your favorite hobby gardening. You can sign up for a special affiliate link with amazon.com and place it on your website. Make recommendations to your visitors about good books you found on amazon.com about gardening and provide them with the affiliate link. If one of your visitors access amazon.com through your link and makes a purchase (it doesn't matter what the purchase is), you will receive a percentage of the total purchase that is made before taxes and shipping.
