I think the best way to make money online is actually work hard. Not just hard but smart.
Creating your own product and then get others to help you sell, is a very sure way to make money.
The catch is to find the niche that will make money and develop a quality product. I am actually working on a product development kit I should have ready by end of the month. This will be real stuff from my experience working in developing real products on my day job plus some guru type materials.
I will provide more details soon.

Yes, many of the heavy hitters are wealthy because they have created a product of their own and they have recruited a large affiliate promotion army.
Best of luck on your product and do keep us posted on what you are doing and how well things are going.

If you finish with your product, keep us posted. Maybe we can help promote yours.

Thanks for the feedback so far. What I realize is that there is no limit to products you can actually create. The key is to do good market research.
I will keep you posted, hopefully, I will have the sales site up this week in an pre-launch mode.

Why not just do what the rest of the snakes do? Grab one unqiue idea, then package a bunch of marketing tools, and by tools I mean ideas(article, PPC, SEO, Sig forum,) around your 1 unique idea, then call your tool a secret the snakes don't want you to know, then charge $5 a pop for access to said secret, charge 10 to become an affiliate, spend 3 month recruiting people into your business so they can sell it and keep 3 bucks for themselves and 2 go to you, or you MLM it with a max downline of 4 and spread the wealth out.
This is immoral as all hell but it is what half of these guru's do.

But I think you can do it a very clean and moral way, by taking time to find out whats needed and supply a quality product. You can do it the immoral way to make quick buck or you can put some effort to build your reputation in time.

Absolutely. As you said the trick is finding something people need. People need to learn how to market, etc, etc, Selling idea's has always posed a problem to me only because odds are you are not the first person to think of it.
I've seen plenty of people start out trying to be moral and then the draw of the almighty(though weakening) dollar allow them to sideling their own morals.
I'm not trying to come off as negative, the point of my post was basically to warn you of sliding over to the darkside.

Hello Jahman,
I'd say you're on the right track. You've identified many of the core elements that are necessary to build a successful Web business:
1. Be dedicated and work smart. 2. Own your own product(s). 3. Offer an affiliate program. 4. Do your homework (market research). 5. Identify a niche. 6. Satisfy a need. 7. Offer quality. 8. Maintain integrity. I'll add one more here:
9. Never give up.
All the best in your quest!
Hermas

Hmm, maybe you could give us all a free copy and we'd all make some money promoting it for you as affiliates! Everybody wins!
