joanpeterson: Besides using adsense or chitika, one could consider selling space for banners but only if your website gets enough traffic that would justify doing so. I sell ad space on my site as well. For now, I only make about $50 a month doing this, but I think that's good considering my traffic.

I can't imagine it's very easy selling ad space directly. You'd have to contact the buyers directly and convince them it's worth advertising on your site etc. Basically cold calling sales.
You also need a site with decent traffic before anyone would even consider you.

Girlyone: I have clicked on my adsense ads to see if they worked! Will they disable my account now? If you only clicked once you should be OK. I have done this by accident, as many have.
If you clicked on it multiple times, you should find a support email (try adsense-support @ google.com ) and explain what happened. Tough to email them these days though.
Another tip: Don't tell your good friends about how you make money on your sites. They think they are doing you a favor by clicking on your ads repeatedly which is another activity that can get you booted.

I've been using Adwords for almost 2 years now and still my income is just $1.80. I already have 3 blogs but still I'm having difficulties driving traffic to my blogs.

I use Adsense on all of my blogs. Some do better than others. This month is the first month that I surpassed $100 for the month (so far). I attribute that to all the traffic I got to a Mother's Day post. I guess people clicked on the ads to get more info on the topic.
I find that my Adsense ads on the top left, and top of posts get the most clicks. If you check out Google's "heat" map, that is the area on websites that get the most clicks.

I have had some problems with google adsense. I had a previous account with them under a different login that was approved, so they will not approve my new application with them. I still have access to the e-mail that I signed up with them previously, but adsense will not let me login with that information or change the current e-mail back to the old e-mail so I can use my old account for my new one.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue. I have tried to figure it out through their help questions, but it really doesn't address this or I am just not seeing it.

For affiliate marketing to work you need traffic. And that takes lots of work and lots of hours. I have over 40 blogs with Google. Why so many? So I will be showing up in lots of different searches. The more searches, the more traffic. That simple.

Interesting that you have so many blogs. Do you create fresh content for all of them regularly? I would think that would really keep you hopping!
P.S. It's against the forum guidelines to bold your entire post. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.

I have a website I have owned since 1999 and it gets a lot of traffic. So I just signed up, figured I had nothing to loose since it is free!

I was worried my site wasn't growing as fast as it should (although since I use UAW, my traffic has been growing much more) but my numbers are very similar to yours so that makes my day.
Don't you just love SBI.

mountainmom5: Don't you just love SBI Oh, I do, I do, I do!
My numbers are considerably higher than those you've quoted, but partly that's because one particular niche is doing more than exceptional. I think that's a little extra blessing from the Lord, but regardless, SBI and Adsense have both been amazing.
Something else to keep in mind is that every time your site has a birthday, you are quite likely to get a little extra boost. At least that's been my experience over all.
I'm so glad I learned this wonderful way to earn money from home.
Keep up the great work! It truly does only get better and better and better.
Blessings, Angie

Exactly! And the funny thing is that no matter how much you achieve, you keep wanting to do a bit better. I wonder if I'll ever quite wanting to do more?
I'm guessing not for quite some time, because it is so much fun and you really get that sense of accomplishment.
Blessings, Angie

Google adsense can be an earner yes, but a lot of traffic is needed to earn any serious money from it. Also, dont just rely on adsense to earn money from your website, as you never know when google might just pull the plug on you. I know a lot of people that suddenly had their adsense accounts frozen for no apparent reason. They were earning hundreds per day and then nothing in one false swoop by google. You need a backup earner in place too, and i highly suggest clickbank and infolinks.com.
