I know there have been plenty of topics and/or posts regarding recommendations for legit at home work opportunities but I also understand each person has different circumstances, so I figured Id try my luck and ask you fine people what your opinions may be for my situation. I am a full time student living with my mother at the time.
I drive about 30 minutes to the college campus every weekday on gas money that my mother is more then willing to pay for thankfully. I tried holding a part time job but found it took away from my studies sadly. I have gotten to point where being jobless has affected me very much so with the incapability of going out, or having money to go visit friends on weekends, or even just buying a simple 6 pack for the night .
So Iv tried a few diff places like A.W. Surveys, Send Earnings and a few others only to find there's a catch in the long run. In A.W. surveys I filled out all the surveys and earned up to 27 dollars, which btw is already enough to be glad to have, but find I cant redeem until I get to 75 dollars. SO that was kind of a let down...
I have no money, I have 3 yrs college experience majoring in music education. Im awsome with computers, I can make web pages, and I consider myself a pretty decent writer. So surely there has to be some simple method for myself to make money online if I work at it maybe 3 or 4 hours a day or more. If anyone can recommend a legit and somewhat rewarding at home work opportunity for someone starting off with nothing, I would greatly appreciate.

Right there you go it, bud. There are thousands of affiliate products just waiting for someone to come buy them... if only there was someone that could build a web page that would compel the visitor to click through and want to purchase it...

There is a learning curve just as with anything else, because the truth of the matter is that you can build the most fascinating and arrousing web page on the net, but if no one sees it, it will do you no good.

Getting traffic to that fantastic web page is where you will spend most of your learning curve...

For Starters go to places like:

commission junction
shareasale
Clickbank

(you can google them all) and see what is out there to promote. With Commission Junction and Shareasale they want you to have a decent web or blog page before you apply for their program but with Clickbank which is all e-products, you can register for free anyways.

Go have some fun and keep us posted.

Hardkorez I asume you'd also add to your resume that you can't afford PPC (pay per click) advertising (those are the sponsored ads that show on the search results pages with most search engines).

For you, and to reduce your learning curve time, I suggest you invest in an ebook written by a friend on the warriors forum (potpiegirl) titled "One Week Marketing Plan". She explains step by step how to use free resources to earn affiliate commissions from the affiliate networks that mountain mom suggested. She has a link to it in her signature .

About AW Survey and similar scams, there is a common practice among those scammers that I explained in one of my ebooks titled "The Truth about PTC" which applies to all "get paid to" scams.

Long story short johnjimat, the scammers intentionally pay some members to get them to write good feedback and defend them on forums. Those are the smart scammers. But if you get paid once you'll probably never be paid again by the same scammer.

Since you have some skills like making web pages and writer, you can start as a freelance first to earn some money, then progress to do some online business.

I signed up with the clickbank page. Went to the getting started etc... only problem I have is I notice it talks about the pitch page and states that "To sell a product through ClickBank, you will need your own website, including web hosting and a registered domain name. You cannot sell a product through ClickBank using a web page hosted on free sites, and ClickBank does not provide hosting for web pages." Now Im at a dilemma because I haven't got the money to pay for any web hosting services. I can do the free stuff just fine though but apparently ClickBank does not allow this. Any ideas? I suppose I could try and convince my mother to spot me one as long as Im assured in someway Id make something out of it.

As For the ebook "One Week Marketing Plan", same instance goes for this as well. I guess it goes without saying though, you have to spend money to make money and this is where I fall off the tracks in the long run sadly...

Perhaps though if there's any money making opportunity that isnt as rewarding, but still eventually pays out a little that I do not have to invest in, I can just use that money gained to afford these recomended steps...

and just to add one more thing... was looking at the get started page in Clickbank while I typed my last message. Finally scrolled down a bit more to the bottom and my heart nearly dropped when it said the whole one payment activation fee of 49.95. Holy bejunga thats allot of coin! So now Im stuck with buying my own web site AND paying that 50 bucks? Yah I might try it AFTER i make money...

i think we can use free domain and hosting to promote clickbank right? correct me if i'm wrong. but as i know, to promote clickbank product we have to build a landing page.

Hold on. You are reading the "Vendors" page. You are going to be a "Publisher". as a publisher you don't need to pay anything or have to build any websites.

Vendors are people who have digital products and want to sell them through click bank. Those have to buy a domain name, host their sales page and product delivery stuff, then get the code from clickbank for the money processor and add it to their website. Vendors need to activate their account for $49.95.

Publishers (you) are going to help sell those products (like a brokerer) and get paid a percentage of the prices of those products. You don't pay anything and don't need to do anything other than bringing your affiliate link to the product in front of the interested customers.

Shane,

Having no money, 3 years in music education at college level, pretty decent web design and writing skills, and time, makes you an excellent candidate for promoting online music lessons as an affiliate.

In addition to being involved with music, something you obviously enjoy, here are some other advantages:

1. Affiliate programs are free to join.
2. Your music education background qualifies you to be an objective music course critic/reviewer.
3. The ability to design websites gives you an additional layer of marketing options to explore.
4. Your writing skill will be a key element in article promotions and copywriting.

So surely this is one simple method for you to make money online if you dedicate at least 3 hours a day. It's certainly something to consider.

You have a great edge with the computer knowledge and music. Go back to clickbank and search the products for something related to the music field and then build your site. After that come back here and type in things like driving traffic, getting traffic, promoting and just search this forum and you will get tons of information on how to promote your site. Find your product, then just build your site. Get started and learn as you go. I spent months just studying and only when I started just doing it, even if it wasn't perfect is when I saw money.

Hey Hardkorez,

The comments above that highlight your skills are spot on. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make money online without spending anything - the only thing is, this would mean sacrificing more of your time.

But if you can spare 3-4 hours a day then I don't envisage that as being too much of a problem.

What surprises me is that no has mentioned the '30 Day Challenge' !! (unless I missed it - in which case, apologies...)

The 30 Day Challenge is FREE. It guides you through the process of making your first $1 online by using methods that don't incur any cost.

However, PPC (pay per click) comes into it for the last bit but using this method is based on re-investing a proportion of the profits you make from the free methods.

AND I think the 30DC is currently in pre-season mode for 2009, so the content will be very much up to date.

Perhaps apply the lessons from the 30DC to the idea of a music-themed website promoting relevant products.

You should be fine - relax and enjoy yourself.

Good luck to all,

IP

I at one point researched for a good 18 months to find something online, what i found was that you have to find something with the proper training and support, and in most cases in order to get that there usually is a monthly fee involved, but with my experience in the past the small fees that may be charged are absolutley worth every penny when it comes to proper training, without that a person is running around aimlesly trying to figure out were to start. Also make sure you have a passion for what you are doing, this will be the difference between success and failure. Take Care.
