Establishing a working schedule is also important. Having regularly scheduled hours when you work will help you to be more efficient during these times. Be sure to schedule work time as well as break times so that you will not become overwhelmed. One of the pitfalls that some work from home employees fall into is working too many hours. In an office there is a clear signal to the end of the day as other employees start to leave the office for the day but at home employees sometimes have difficulty ending their day.

I have this problem. But, in my case, it's difficult to study and work at home. I think, for people who work out of their homes it's easier to stand up and go working. They are always controlled by others. But me, for example, should always plan my days and hours to work/to study/to rest.

PLEASE, WRITE HOW ARE YOU MAKING YOUR WORK-SHEDULE???

currently, i am holding a job and doing a online business on a part time basic. But i will set myself an hour everyday to do my online business.

It's all motivation. If you want to succeed, you need to do something for your business.

Good job Cherie, on putting an hour per day into working on your business. You'll see success as long as you stay consistent and put the effort in.

I work my business a couple of hours per day, depends on what I have going on that particular day. Works for me.

It is all about motivation. You have to decide do you want to have a successful home business at some point so you won't have to answer to a boss anymore or do you want to watch that tv show that's on, or whatever it is. You have to make your business a priority even if you can only work on it an hour a day, 5 hours a week, 10 hours a month, just work on it and be consistent. That's the only way to make a difference is to do things differently.

I do have to have some sort of schedule although with a family there is always bound to be something that can upset the schedule, like when a coyote runs across the field and my school boys think it's time for a hunting lesson - lol!

But I normally work on admin things in the morning and as I do homeschool with the kids then I do any phone work in the afternoon for several hours while they are outside and/or doing chores...

I think it is important to have at least 2 hours a day that we work our business - work being whatever income producing activity we have in our business - online marketing, placing ads, or making calls....

Straightening up my desk and checking emails is not necessarily income producing activity!

Very good advice!

You are right about the fact that people who work from home put in to many hours per day, especially during the start-up stage.

Develop a schedule, allot a certain amount of time to eack task, quit at the same time each day. And stick to it. You will accomplish more.

Take breaks during the day as well. It clears the mind and provides an opportunity to regain your perspective.

Thanks again for your insights.

John

That's true. It's easy to be distracted and end up doing something else for the whole day and then you realize that you spent the day being non productive.

I find it important that you write down what tasks to complete on a daily basis and go through that list on a daily basis and solely focus time on that particular task then when you have completed that task, you can then take a break to relax the mind and get some fresh air then get back to work and continue to complete that list of yours and in doing so, you are working more productively and efficiently in operating a successful home business.
