Big difference between the two. I was in a MLM a few times. The biggest difference is in MLM you usually have to build a team underneath you ( a big team) to make good money. Also with MLM it is alot of advertising and talking to people. Affilate marketing is done pretty much from the computer. No downline, No phone calls!

Hi guys,
Something which really urks me and I would just like to comment on.
For all these work at home opportunities particularly the like of making money online opportunites such as affiliate marketing and multi level marketing... they all come with a presell page about how much money you can make and that within days you will see cash rolling into your account.
Guys, come on, get real. For any business to succeed you need to work at it. And if you think these are all get rich quick schemes... forget it.
These types onf income source involve a lot of work, committment and learning. If you do all of this, yes money is to be made... but not within the next hour!
That said - I wish you all tons and tons of money!

Your right ZiggyZoo, it is almost never "get rich quick". Most of the time it is just make a pretty good living over a long time. But that is alright! Depending on your marketing target it is beneficial to market it as "get rich quick" though.

There are no quick rich schemes.
YOU HAVE TO WORK VERY HARD AT WHATEVER YOU WISH TO DO.
Having physical products can help boost your income.
Information products can become a wealthy way of making money if you have a list.

Well I personally don't believe that there are get rich quick schemes that will make you millions overnight. And if there is let me know. But as far as developing an internet business as compared to a brick and mortor business, there is a lot more potential of becoming financially independant running an internet business as opposed to a local business or brick and mortar business. With an internet business you are selling to a worldwide market; not just a local market. The cost of starting up an internet business is only a fraction of the cost of opening up a brick and mortar business. And this is why many companies that are already established offline are also moving online.

Really good post here. I have been looking at several different ways to earn money form home but I am always so nervous about scams and such. Having a listing of reputable site on this forum is a great idea....of course we have no idea is the people submitting them are legit....

ZiggyZoo: Guys, come on, get real. For any business to succeed you need to work at it. And if you think these are all get rich quick schemes... forget it. Wait a minute - you mean you CAN'T get rich quick after all??? And here I have been working at it for over two years, expecting to get rich quick next month...
Just kidding.
That was a good comment - I am totally with you. I think the reason they use those sales pages is because of all the gullible folks that respond to that stuff.
It's marketing. It works so they use it.
Truth of the matter is that regardless whether you do network marketing, affiliate marketing, mlm or whatever you do online, it will take time.
Don't let anybody kid you on that.
In fact, let it encourage you! If you have been trying to make money online for awhile and it just hasn't come together for you, doesn't mean there is something wrong with you or your program at all....
It may just mean that you still in the learning curve, which is where most folks quit.... only the hardiest go on the land of milk and honey - no different than any other areas of life.
Take the olympics, for example. They work, train, work, train to get to their goals and only the best succeed.
To your success!

In my opinion, affiliate marketing is the way to go to make money online as quickly as possible. There is a learning curve, but anyone can do it if there determined enough! If you use pay per click ads, that's the quickest way to get traffic and if you use MSN (Bing) and Yahoo you can still advertise and link straight to the merchants site without having to have a website (your own site is a must for Google though).

There is a general misconception about affiliation ! Yes there is money to be made from selling other folks products, but no were near the amount, that the people marketing tell you & don't be sucked in by the misleading clickbank screenshots. Determination & hardwork & a clear vision of where you going, are a few of the main ingredients required, to make it in this business !

That is very true. No get rich quick in affiliate marketing, unless you have 1000's in your list that are buying customers, and you have a good relationship with. They need to trust you. I have opted in with some affiliates that bombard me with their sales pages of various products. Maybe 1 product in 20 sounds good, and when I see their name now I don't even bother to open their emails anymore, and soon I will start unsubscribing to loads of them. If I receive an email maybe twice a week is ok, but not 3 - 4 times a day. So, work at it, it will be slow initially, unless, you have the right niche and right client base.

You're absolutely right paolo4. In order to success with affiliate marketing you need to have a good list of people that already trust you. Its a lot more easy to make money fast in this case.

Yip you really need patience as an affiliate marketer. But eventually the patience pays off.
Lets not forget about why we are doing it though
We get to work from home, we are our own boss, we can work as and when we want and how hard we want to... this is freedom at its peek!!!
Oh how i love it!
