Distractions most often come from things you like to do. For instance: When you're online and stumble upon games, other interesting topics, etc. This can make you leave your work for a while, then, you notice 2 hours have past.
This means you should have more passion on your business than other things - you would rather make articles than watch TV.
Also add this beside your goals in BOLD:
"What will happen if I do my business casually?" Then list down the worst 10.
Thinking about "Negative Consequences" can also motivate.

If you are truly ADD then I suggest the following.
First off, write down your to do list for the day. It will "declutter" your mind and give you a game plan. Make it realistic, a 20 item to do list, with ADD, is very UNrealistic. Make it 5-7 things that you need to get done.
Secondly, schedule your work time. Give yourself 2-3 hour blocks and tell yourself that you MUST get everything done within those blocks. I find that if I limit the time that I've got I tend to be more focused. If I give myself all day to do 5 things, guess what? It's going to take me all day and I'll get around to maybe 2 or 3.
Thirdly, and most importantly, take frequent breaks. It's ok for your attention to wander. Everyone has this problem. When you feel your attention span start to slide, stop what you're doing, get up and take 5 or 10 minutes. Go outside, get some fresh air, something that will help you refocus. You could also schedule many small breaks during the day such as take a break every 30 minutes.
Hope this helps.

The two biggest motivational issues in this type of business I think are, being mislead by someone, which sets your mind back a few notches, because you've lost time & probably money & the other issue is boredom, in that you don't enjoy this business & find it tedious, which will set you a huge challenge to overcome with your own state of mind.

Hello Luke,
You may try sound technology.
I meditate with recordings, and without, also enjoying Holothink's Laser Focus Optimizer...I prefer the free demo. I home school 2 active boys, and have a home business and once in a while need to center.
The Monroe Institute has wonderful recordings, tailored for specific outcomes. The site is great for research too.
From relaxation to as far as you want to take it. Victoria

The best way to focus is to stop doing what you're doing and pick one item to concentrate on for a bit.
It's funny you mentioned this because I was just listening to a teleseminar talking about this very thing.
One of the best pieces of advice I've heard concerning marketing is to focus on providing value to other people. Dont think about money first. Think about how you can assist other people with the knowledge that you have.
Don't be afraid to give because people will respect you for the value they get. Overtime, they will build trust in you, and then you can see them return the favor.
I used to do the same thing, and in some ways still do it a bit now. I kept checking where the traffic was coming from. I kept wondering if my copy writing was right. These are good things to test and tweak as appropriate, but don't obsess over them.
You know the saying, "A Watch Pot Never Boils?" This is most true in making money online.
Once, I took that approach, I started feeling better and less ansy. When I could finally focus and provide value to others, the ideas started coming to me more clearly.
Plus, I love hanging out in forums. It is my favorite form of marketing. It doesn't feel like marketing to me, but it's fun.
