A scam is just enticement created mentally by con artists, who care only about parting you from your money. Sense of right and wrong do not come into it.

Anyone not smart enough can get trapped in their offers of freedom, reputation, high income and the lavish life. The end result is always a loss to you.

One common way of being scammed is being to be set up with a company complete with a supported, duplicate Website, along with products or services to sell for a fixed charge and incentives to enroll others to pay the fee.

Another popular scam is the enticement to sell products on behalf of 'reputable' companies. Often these "representatives" are not really wholesalers as they might claim but in reality they are extra middlemen between wholesale distributors and you, and enjoying the extra share of the profit. These Dot Cons fool you into reselling the concept of the scheme for them. As a result you will have to charge absurd selling prices to earn any margin at all.
One other big dot-con type is those that promise automated free advertising for your website. They will in one way or another, profit from you if you fall into their traps.

These marauders flourish on the inexperienced, wishful and desperate especially stay-at-home moms, the elderly, and physically-challenged people who desperately need money.

Yes, "These marauders flourish on the inexperienced, wishful and desperate especially stay-at-home moms, the elderly, and physically-challenged people who desperately need money." That's why it's very important to check out the principles ("marauders") of the company before joining any business.

If someone is desperate for money, DO NOT join an opportunity that promotes anything related to making money fast. Not to take away from the excitement, but it does take time, hard work, and persistence to build a successful online business.

There are businesses out there that are legitimate, but beware of the scams.

Jeff
