Nicky, I would be willing to teach you the things I know, but I'm still a beginner. I would recommend you have a look at Wealthy Affiliate. You could join there and let Kyle and Carson mentor you. If you have a lot of time to invest like you say, then their training in affiliate marketing could be a fantastic opportunity for you right now.

Honestly I haven't tried anything yet I really am just trying to learn as much as I can and get a feel for all the different methods of making money at home. I just joined wealthy affiliates, but I have to wait for pay pal to go through so any other learning material I can use to learn while I wait for my membership to process would be wonderful. Also, thank you everyone that has emailed me and given me advice, its greatly appreciated.

Hi nick,
I really like your idea, that you want to take time and learn to walk the robes.
As you have already noted there are very many ways to make money online, and there are also thousands of ways to lose money online.
Take your time, the more you read from authoritative people who have already succeeded the more likely you are to join there ranks.

I would personally advise you to do lots of research on the different businesses that you will see throughout the forums... If you have more time and patience than greenbacks right now - take advantage of that and if you see something that interests you, do your research....
Hop onto any conference calls or webinars they offer - ask questions - get the feel of what you would be doing,etc...
You are actually in a good place - if you had money burning a hole in your pocket you might be tempted to jump before you look and this way you will be more carfeul about where you land.

nick, You want to beware of overwhelm, as well. There is so much information out there it's easy to get caught up in "paralysis of analysis." Let me ask you this---do you have reserve money to start with pay per click? That's where the folks at WA will lead you to. Or they will have you start with Travis Sago's Bum Marketing (which is excellent). Travis' method is a form of Article Marketing which is what I do. My interest is long term passive income, I just don't want to have to monitor my pay per click campaigns, to me that's a job. I want a business that doesn't require me to always actively participate in it (passive). Reseach-yes. But then take massive action in one direction.

Hi Nick, There are so many opportunities and mentors out there it is so hard to choose what is right for you I'm sure. That was my experience. I have hooked up with a really good team of mentors. They teach you what you need to learn to become successful on and off line. I can only go by my experience, I have learned a lot from these guys. We have daily calls and one of these guys is always available to help. It is a whole system to get you going right away. Just click on my link to find out more. You can learn online at your own pace also. Hope you find the right fit for you.

Nick,
As you can see, there are numerous places to find help. I have been dabbling with an online business until I realized that I needed help. You are smart to look outside of yourself.
I would suggest you do a Google search for online or marketing mentor. Take some time checking them out. There are many good ones. When you happen across those that interest you, do a comparison & see how available they are for you, how much they cost, and how long they have been around. You will find a huge difference when you look hard enough.
When you feel good about someone, just go for it. Don't put up too much $ or time up front. If they are serious about helping you, they will take the time to forge a relationship with you & make you feel like they are giving you far more than what you expect in return for your investment in them.
Good luck to you,
Lance

What business are you with currently....that will make a difference in what type of mentoring you want. Are you completely new to marketing or have you been trying to figure it out by yourself for a while and you need some help? Personally I am an Attraction Marketing Mentor. This means we use the latest Web 2.0 techniques as well as TSLOA. You can check out my website and I offer free training there, and the mastermind group All4One is another resource. We do not believe in charging people to learn how to get results but we are strict that people are serious and teachable because we do not want to waste our time.

As most have said, take the time to do your research before jumping into that next business opportunity that you see on the Internet. It's not the opportunity that will ensure your success, it's your mentor.
Without the correct mentor that possesses the necessary knowledge and information required to succeed in the home based business industry, your success is questionable.
There are several avenue to look into when joining the home based business industry, you can either take the affiliate marketing route, direct sales or mlm route.
What you want to learn is how to apply Web 2.0 Marketing to your online business IF you do not have an advertising budget. Web 2.0 Marketing is where you will learn how to utilize social networking websites to promote your business or product.
Welcome to the industry and I wish you well for your success.

Hi Nicky-
There are many opportunities out there. But as most have said, you need a strong sponsor and most importantly a strong team. It took me a while to find it and my sponsor has been great. Come to find out he is the one of the top income earners and he cares about his team. So check out some opportunities and get as much information as you can before getting started.

You heard them.. RESEARCH, RESEARCH , RESEARCH
I spent and wasted hundreds of $$$ just joining many opportunities . One thing you can do in affilate websites, become an affilate, then buy lol. that way you can save money.
I'm 100% sure you will find the right company for you after you done some research.
I wanted join every money making opportunity at the beginning. and learned that it takes lots of focus on 1 thing to reach your highest potential.
I recommend to look up to "TheGuild", he's over 50 and wise for sure. And if you talk to him, you'll get some 80-100% facts about marketing. But after doing some research on him, It wasnt the right opportunity for me.
Plus look at the people's signature, they are opportunities that they promote.
personally, ive found the right opportunity for me.

MyNameJoshRocks: I recommend to look up to "TheGuild", he's over 50 and wise for sure.
Okay, that's quite flattering Josh - LOL - but maybe you have us (TheGuild) confused with our mentor, who IS over fifty and wise in the sense that he's one of the most brilliant networkers we know.
But that could be an assumption. You might be talking about somebody completely different - somebody we don't know? I say that because it's unlikely you found our mentor's business opportunity anywhere advertised or promoted on any of our websites or on our blog.
In fact, you won't find us promoting our mlm company anywhere either!
Just for the record, our names are Rob and Rayvin, under 40, parents to 5 wonderful school-age kids who love the fact their mother (Rayvin) is able to stay-at-home full time and be the mom she wants to be.

I am working with a mentor who was at University studying business and marketing and his lecturer told him his ideas would never fly. Now he makes millions via his internet business with simple products and successful marketing. He has a free 35 day mentoring process that he offers to those really serious about getting up every day and doing that day's mentoring activity. The 35 days gets you through to a viable business. No prepackaging, it's not his business or turnkey system or anything. It's stunning and it shifts gears in your head. Let me know if you want me to plug your name into his Tell A Friend function. Give me your email and you can check it out and if you want, start immediately. Unbelievably, no strings.
