Hello everyone,
I am new to the idea of making money online. In fact, my roommate at school got frustrated with internet marketing and gave me his old website I'm trying to figure out if it is a good thing to invest time and money in or not. Please let me know a good place to start.

Hello everyone,

What website did he give you? Is it on a subject that you know about or are interested in? If so, that has possibilities.

Are you asking if it is good to invest time and money in that website or to invest time and money in internet marketing?

I'd have to see the website to tell you the answer if it's the first.

The answer to the second is definitely yes. Internet marketing is well worth the effort if you have the commitment to actually work at it AND you have good step by step instructions to follow. To me, those two ingredients are key.

The fact that you are in school suggests that you are still fairly young. That is to your great advantage because you can set yourself up very nicely for your future if you are willing to put in the effort now. Wish I'd started this years ago!

Blessings,
Angie

Have to see the website to give any answers.

Why did your friend give it up?

Provided that you have a valuable product to offer with that website that will meet a market's needs, it is certainly worth you time and money

Good luck in your endeavor. Working from home takes work but with a good plan, product and the will to win many have succeeded. Some of the skills needed are as follows:

1- The ability to generate customers/leads

There are many great post on this skill in this forum. I suggest creating a newsletter on your subject with a lead capture form to generate participants.

2- Some computer knowledge

Many opportunities have pre made website that come at a a monthly cost. If you can create your own site you can save that monthly fee. Creating a site through blogger is pretty simple and also allows you to put content daily on your site to get better google listings and placement.

3- Being able to adapt

As the market changes so should your strategy. Learn market trends and act accordingly.

Again I wish you the best in your endeavor. Use this forum to learn as much as you can and give it a real shot.

You can make money with a website, but it takes time and you have to be willing to experiment.

Lots of trials and errors should be made in order for your site to get noticed and be placed on top of the listings. Onsite and Offsite SEO and other factors.

What is his website about?
Chances are if he wasn't able to make money with the site, you probably won't make money either.
There are plenty of opportunities to make money online. You just have to find what works for you.

Build your list of intrested targeted people who want what you have to offer..

Don't skimp on investing the minimum $50 a month on your business for expenditures starting out.

Autoersponder : $20 per month
Hosting: $10 per month
Domain name: $7 per year
Paid traffic: Optional (highly recommended to test quickly)
