Okay - I am gonna lay my head out on the chopping block....
I did something that I don't know is stupid yet or not - but if it works it would be great way for my college/high school kids to make some extra money.
I have it in my sig below and yeah, I am pretty tough - I can take it if you guys think it's stupid... but here is what I am thinking...
We all know that money simply circulates... we buy a pizza so the shop owner can pay his rent, and we buy cookies so the girl scouts can do fun things... know what I mean?
I have my hard hat and safety gear on....lol... so give me some feedback.

This type of "thing" has been going around for a very long time.
I would image if promoted sufficiently it would generate some cash. Probably definitely have to stick to free or low cost marketing
There are several low cost opportunities that are paying off well. I found these days any business less than $200 can be viable to a general audience looking to make additional income

It is surly not new as others have said and I'll be a bit surprised to say, if that is still legal. Now, if it is legal and someone can give a proof or two of earnings from this...here is a follower for them.

mountainmom5: Okay - I am gonna lay my head out on the chopping block.... I'd get my head outta there before the guillotine comes crashing down!
The concept is a digital version of a system that has been around for a very long time. In the pre internet days the money was sent by postal mail to names and addresses on the list. There were the requisite "testimonials" from people claiming to have followed the instructions and received a bounty.
Some "reports" even had people renting post office boxes just to accomodate the number of envelopes they received daily that were stuffed with cash.
Then there were the implied endorsements by reputable third parties, such as news organizations, television shows, national magazines and mainstrean publications. That tactic helped to sanitize one's perception.
The system may work in theory. It's certainly attractive and titilating because "it's only ten bucks." But in reality, many people replace the names on the list with friends' names, or use fictitious names to steer the envelopes to themselves. (So much for honesty!)
Some people even challenge the legitimacy of such a system, as it arguably falls into a legal gray area.
Just be careful!
BTW, I'll let you in on a secret, and you must promise not to tell anyone. Okay?
::whispering:: I tried it myself decades ago and never received even one envelope. Zero! Nada! Zilch! Must have gotten lost in the mail. Shhh!

And you know, when you stop and think about it... most people won't have a clue how to market it on the internet....
Edited to add that I took it off my sig again...thanks for the soft hatchets!

I wouldn't give up on it, yet. I did this type of thing once where they send you money in the mail. I actually got a few envelopes from my online marketing. Of course I'm onto other good things now, but I believe its still out there because it still works. It's no magic big cash solution but it can work.

mountainmom5 As long as you have set your mind to do something and really believe in what you are doing, you can be successful at anything you set out to do. The main thing with any home based business is you must have good training and support in order to succeed. And your passion for the business is what will set you apart from the rest. Take Care.

When everyone was trying to build their own websites, I offered a huge web design package on eBay for a very low price and it made me some extra cash. I didn't get rich but it was enough to pay 3 months car payment.

Now, I am totally confused with this thread.
Are you saying that people should get paid for referring others to places like restaurants', movies, etc...?
I am not getting this thread.

yasser: it works, because i paid you. Yes it works. And it may even work offline if you'd print out some flyers... but I haven't put too much effort into it as I have way too many irons in the fire already...
Good luck! And thanks!

Honestly, been there, done that. I tried GDI because it was just $10, but by the time I fond out about it, everything was too flooded with other GDI ads. It's a tough call. I'm trying the "get in at the top" method at the moment. I'll let you know how it works! Good luck!
