I'm an affiliate marketer, but I also have written my own internet marketing guide, and I'm also working on a digital product about fantasy football. Really, there are lots of ways to make money online, but I think the best is affililiate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money online in my opinion. Adsense is also a big one that I make a lot of money with.

The two techniques makemoneyonline mentioned are greater for beginners and from there you can develop further like getagrip has by creating his own products

I'm promoting advertising programs....website rotators, free traffic generators...free report on using the same..it's building my opt in email list very well. I can then market back end offers to my list, once I have them. Having a qualified, well targeted list that you can market too is the end game of most internet marketing techniques.

I agree that affiliate marketing and adsense are good ways to make money online. I also have developed my own products which I make money with. None of it will make you rich overnight, but if you work your internet businesses like you would any other job, you can earn a good living. A lot of it depends on how much time you are willing to invest in the beginning, getting things set up and how much time daily you are willing to spend. An advertising budget also is very useful to get things going quicker.

Yeah, sure. I'm actually planning to give the info away for free, so I'll let you know when I have something up - probably by this weekend.

The more I investigate the potential of making online money the deeper I seem to sink into a morass of despair and incomprehension.

Adsense is one of the simplest ways, but there is a lot of competition. If you have a product or service, you can earn more

What, if anything have my Profit Lancers done with the adsence sites on PL. I am working on those articles getting NEW and sorta using the "view source" to help me with other sites I am building.
And..... What about affiliate sites? What are you doing with those? Are you paying for traffic?

Graham,
Welcome to the fascinating and frustrating world of Internet Marketing.
Your experience is typical for the beginner. The sheer volume of information about ways to make money online can leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed, lost, and (as you so eloquently describe it) sinking into "a morass of despair and incomprehension."
What happens next depends on how you choose to respond to your predicament.
Amidst all the seeming confusion, I'm sure you could recognize those opportunities that do not appeal to you for whetever reason. Simply discount those, and then continue to narrow your selection down to a handful that you do find interesting.
Take a closer look at that handful for the one that truly excites you and that your experience, knowldege, budget, time and motivation could accomodate. Begin there!
As you gather more experience and become more adept, your understanding, confidence and progress will improve, and so will your focus and determination.
Eventually you'll find yourself at a place where you're making progress almost intuitively and with much less effort than before.
By that time, you would have become one more vehicle wending your way confidently along the Internet Highway, which once seemed so intimidating and scary, but has since been transformed into a familiar place.
Good luck and have a fun trip!
Hermas

"How do you make money online?" This is indeed the question! I just started seriously investigating the multitude of possibilities (and impossibilities) yesterday. MLM, affiliate programs, direct sales, pay for click, blogging,....my head is still spinning from last evenings research. It looks like a program like Profit Lance or Wealthy Affiliate will get me started, but I am not sure where things will go from there. I take solace in seeing that my fellow travelers are also about to "sink into a morass of despair and incomprehension". What did the man say? "never, never, never quit". Good luck! Here's to the journey!

When your doing internet marketing its important to have PATIENCE. Its very easy to try and advertise something and your just sitting there waiting for your products to sell immediatly. But the fact is it takes time. Sometimes weeks, sometimes monthes. But if u dont give up and keep on learnin more and more eventually you will be where you want to be. After you advertise a little go out and enjoy your self, check back on your ad a few days later then you can get some actual results.

How do you make money online?
Hmmmm thats a fantastic question. Its like asking: How do you attract a woman?
So many ways out there maybe thosands or millions. First you must ask. Are you ready to make money online?
when you get over that question your ready for the next questions.
Wish you Good Luck

I have to agree that Affiliate Marketing and Adsense are a great source of income online. Another way I make money online is through GPT sites (get paid to). I do really well with them. If it hadn't been for the gpt sites I think I probably would have given up on Internet Marketing. It was at the gpt sites that I experienced my first success at making money online. These are free, so I was able to make some money then use that to get started with other avenues of internet marketing.

Yeah i'm new to this as well. At some point it would be cool to make a full time living on here but for now I would be happy with just making like $50 - $100 each week. So far I haven't gotten anything. I've mostly been doing Affiliate Marketing. Recently I decided to compile a report based on all the Internet Marketing information i've learned over the past 3-4 weeks now. I'm aiming at a 15 pager at least and I will probably add some affiliate links in there..just refferencing people to products i've used and/or reccomend for whatever are I am discussing. Im going to try to sell the report for maybe $10 or something and see how that does. If it doesnt really sell I'll probably just give it away and then ask people if they would like to receive my newsletter eachmonth and start doing some backend sales (or whatever that's called) by offering products in the newsletter.
Anybody have any tips on Affiliate Marketing? I've purchases Average Joe's and it's taught me a great deal from what I hadn't already picked up before that. So far I have had 0 sales on clickbank. Traffic to my articles are so so - depending on what im selling usually. I also have a blog which is in my signature that hasnt really been attracting people period. I've been doing articles also that direct people to my blog and it works sometimes. It's just getting the sales is my big problem. I've been doing review style articles and my blog is review style. I just need traffic to drive them in. Any successful Affiliate Marketers have any advice?
I greatly appreciate it.
