Hy, I'd like to know how can I recognize a scam online, like the pay per click ones or the fishing scams? Is there anything I must look after? Thank you! Dr William Boothe

#1 If it sounds too good to be true - RUN #2 If they promise a lot of money for little or no work - RUN #3 If they are asking for you to confirm your bank or credit card details - RUN #4 If they say someone died and you've got an inheritance - RUN #5 If they say you've won the lotto or some other contest - RUN

If it sounds too good to be true, it is likely to be a scam

Happywife,
I agree with your posts except for #2. That is one that I would have believed up until two months ago. Now I have found a home business that does not take a lot of work or a lot of time and you are able to make a lot of money. I have experienced this. There are no false promises with this one.

Hello Dr William Boothe, What I do is go to online IM forums to check things out.. I have been also considering Success University as an additional project ..so yesterday I went to the Warrior Forum, typed in Success University and found many, many opinions on it. And, I do not really like hype--and the the Get Rich promises...and of course SPAM ..it makes me thing these are despetare marketers. I am not a super affiliate however, but these methods help! You've been given alot of things to look out for. What do you mean by the PPC ads being a scam? They're not all scams at all, they're very legitimate businesses that happen to use PPC to generate traffic. I just wasn't sure what you meant.

Alot of people assume programs are scams because they don't make money straight away. If you want to become a affiliate marketer then you must be committed to working at your program on a daily basis.
You will not make money without some effort. Check to see if your chosen program has a good support group and get a feel for how the participates are.
As mentioned the Warrior forum is a great place to hang out and find out valuable information. The warrior forum is the backbone of my program, they have there own section just for pips members, which im apart of.
King Regards
Jason

The word scam means attemtping to make money using dishonest means. Ok, let's examine the word "dishonest." Not too dificult to understand. Dishonest is well, the opposite of honest, which means fraud, lying to someone, promising something one never had any intention to deliver. So, throwing the word scam around is making a pretty strong accusation! Not all businesses that require up front money are scams. If that were true, McDonalds, Subway, etc. are scams, because they have franchise fees, in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, i might add.
My advice, ask questions, ask about the comp plan, ask where the up front money goes, ask how much a distributor has to invest personally to move up the compensation ladder, ask, ask, ask. Go to the BBB and look up the company. It doesn't take much investigation to uncover the average scam. Unfortunately, there are some that are very good at what they do (taking your money), and you don't find out until you are already involved. Therefore find out up front how to cancel, and how easy or difficult it is to do so. If it is not as simple as simply clicking to cancel and you are never charged another dime, don't get in.
Hope this helps
Mitch

I usually check out the ripoffreport.com and look for reviews - it also helps to look for information in online forums.
