I head a network marketing team selling Nutritional Products. I've been wanting to try direct selling over the phone, but I have so much to do watching over my thriving business and team members, that I can't be on the phone all day long making calls. So I've been thinking about hiring a single or team of telemarketers from home to take leads I give them and sell my products.
I've thought about doing this solely on a commission basis which seems the most fair because I don't know that if I paid someone hourly at home and they never closed a sale that I would be getting my moneys worth or that they were even making the calls.
The other question is do people even buy things over the phone anymore? Haha. I think there's probably some money to be made using these paid leads, but it's a grueling monotonous job that I don't think I can do. Would someone at home want to do this?
Is this Ethical? I would like your opinions. As an adjunct, my little brother is unemployed and has been for some time. He's not interested in network marketing like me, but he said he would make calls for me on commission. So I may try it out, but I'm not sure if he'll be good because he's a very shy person. Your thoughts and opinions, please...

As one who dialed leads for two years straight, I know that most of your callers will give up after a short time unless they are really good at closing or can be motivated with what you have to offer.
A suggestion.... make your proposition good, really good, for your callers, and then have a simple website that they give everybody... that way, IF they close a sale, they will do well, PLUS your website is going out to a ton of people in a personal way which is huge.
You will probably need to look at it as advertising...
I think it's a great idea!

Thanks, I think I might try it out! I'll let everyone know how it goes.

If you are going to do direct selling over the phone, you might want to look into telemarketing laws - I don't know the legalities, but I imagine you could possibly get into legal trouble if you call someone who happens to be on the do not call list...
