Pretty new to this whole work at home deal. Not sure what I'd be good at. I've looked at affiliate marketing such as ClickBank, but I'm not sure what to start with. Is it best to promote through blogs and such? I don't have any web design skills to work with, so I'm not sure how I'd go about promoting through a website. I'd like to think I have decent writing skills. Any way I could put those to use?

So far I've found a lot of useful advice just reading through these forums. Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Welcome Phasoms - as you see, the options are endless out there.

If you can swing it, SBI will teach you all about the whole internet marketing thing AS they guide you thru setting up your own website...After two years, I am still not very techy but I have learned a TON thru the SBI program...

I started the same way. Knew nothing about the internet or affiliate marketing but had some decent writing skills - although they were rusty! Fortunately stumbled onto a few programs that got me started. One was for complete beginners (obviously ME..LOL) and the other is for intermediate. They both have helped me immensely in making sense of the marketing world. And...OMG...did I need help!

Hi Phasoms,

I started with no skills at all. I did not even think that I could write. You need a program that will take you step by step on how to do all of this. I used My online income system. I works well and it is easy to follow.
I'm sure that there are other programs out there that might be good but this one really works if you follow it.

Either way do not try it by yourself you will get lost. Try a proven system and make sure there are not people complaining about it.
Good luck

Hello Phasoms,

If you are still visiting the forum, I am curious what you came up with and what is and is not working out.

Cheers!

Affiliate Marketing kicks ass...

but building a list to promote those products gives you a long-term asset.

You can make money and build steady sales from promoting and marketing hard-core. You'll make money.

But you lose out on a lot of traffic that would have converted to your list whom would eventually purchase.

Most people don't buy on impulse you see. And personally, I buy from those I trust and who befriends me and genuinely wants to help me pick out the right product, even if it isn't there's.

You will certainly build that relationship by focusing all your energy on building your most valuble asset - your list.

I was on this forum for months and months, checking out every business, opportunity..everything til I found what I wanted. Thats what you need to do..research everything, click on members see what they do, find what you are comfortable with. Lots of great advice on this forum. I would actually find something on the web and come back here to see what people were saying about! It helped me a lot. Best of Luck to you! Be patient, you'll find what your looking for.

You mentioned you're good at writing so you could sell your services on sites such as elance.com if you think you could write articles for websites and blogs etc. that are looking for content.

I personally think it's best to promote affiliate products through articles, at least at first. And, in the author's signature block is where you will put your affiliate link.

As you learn more then I would add on a Squidoo lens about your product and then finally a blog. However, I would NEVER stop posting articles because these are amazing ways to build long term residual income!
