You can make a full-time income working from home, but if you're going to have your own business it takes time. You need to treat it as a business and be prepared to work. Some people find a niche where they have to invest very little time once they have things set up, but I believe that's the minority. Most people have to work at managing their business on an on-going basis.

I have found that the best way to promote a business is through both online and offline marketing. You can promote your business very inexpensively through link exchanges, groups, internet directories, etc. However it is also beneficial to get out in your community. A lot of times it's easier to build trust with your customers face to face.

I have put together a list of 85 ways to promote my business. I'd be happy to share but PM me at [email protected] because it is too long to post. Not all the suggestions will necessarily apply to what you're doing, but maybe they'll spark some ideas.

Hi Diane... maybe you could start a new post with the 85 ideas. It would be a great contribution to the forum and that way, if people have questions it will help some of the ones that are browsing but too shy to ask.

Just a thought.

I'd say first understand that it can and is being done. I have 2 degrees, BS and MA and never did a serious full time corp gig. Get started and let things evolve. But you've got to be serious and committed to win the work from home "game."

I make a nice income online, and i also help people to do the same! My main source of income is Clickbank and Google Adwords. Just Learn the tricks of the trade, find the right product to market and get to work! Even if you only do one thing a day to promote your business every little bit helps. Remember the more you put into your business the more you will get back in return!

I focus on the fundamentals and simplicity. I do not let myself get caught up in complicated theories and schemes for making money online. It all comes down to supply and demand in the end. People love to make it complicated, but really it comes down to persistence, patience, and common sense.

This is a really fun post to read through.

I make a nice living at my 9-5, but I am using online income to offset my wife's income so that she can stay home (her choice) and take care of our two kids.

I have been able to do this with very little investment and love working with people to help them find the same oppertunities for themselves.

I still make most of my living from Sport & Financial trading. I'm beginning to make a bit more each month from internet marketing & hope I can continue to grow this each month !

The great thing about this business is the passive income & the fact thatyou can make money while your sleeping or on holiday & there's certainly not many self employed businesses you can do that with & is the most appealing feature about this business.

With trading you have to basically be there nearly all the time to make money & that can wear you down emotionally & slightly alter your personality (I know).

VictoriaNTC:
I have two eBay stores, and made the decision last year to gradually move beyond, because of the fee increases, and the new policies.

I've heard the fee increases hurt a lot of sellers. And it's a bit crazy that buyers can leave negative feedback, but sellers cannot. What if a buyer doesn't pay?

It's good that you've found other things to move into.

I have search online for years, I sell on ebay, still don't make enough there to pay the bills, I have purchased numerous work at home courses and junk that never gets me anywhere and I am really getting strung out on can you really make money online? Is there even a such thing as making money at home online like all these guru's are saying they make 100,000 a month or every 2 months and maybe 200,000 a year, how do they do it if I bought there courses and they didn't make me this much money, I have 2 course I am working on now and it is talking about affiliate marketing and making money as an affiliate! Is there anyone that makes a decent living as an affiliate or am I wasting my time again! Thanks for any advice!
