I love this forum as there is a wealth of information on so many topics. With that being said I have a question for the group. Have any of you ever been involved in creating a membership driven site. Id love to get some feedback from anyone with experience with such a site. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Adam,
I have been involved with a membership site not as an owner, but as a content contributor.
From my experience and interaction with the owner, it's an undertatking that requires careful planning, the right tools, attention to detail and dedication. (Actually that's true for any web driven operation).
Getting the right software package for your particular membership model is very important. You want a program that you can grow into, not outgrow.
Then there's the ongoing challenge to provide fresh, unique and interesting content to keep members happy. And having people to assist you, who know and understand the business, is a smart way to avoid becoming overwhelmed.
However, when you've got all the critical elements working in sync, you could quickly be on a first-name basis with your banker.

Yes.. a lot of work. I think it would be difficult for someone just starting out online or working from home. But if you have a good idea and are willing to put in the effort...go for it. I've heard that memberships sites can make a lot of money and are hot right now.
I have found that there's no automatic money machines. Everything worthwhile takes work and time. Investigate fully - especially if upfront cash is involved.

I appreciate the input but do any of you have any sites that anyone has used to make membership sites. I know that it is an endeavor that will take alot of work but I have the desire to take this up. In the past 3 years ive come up with so much content that will be of service to anyone joining my membership site.
So any advice would be helpful. Of course I can research the info myself but I love this forum as there is so much info that is shared readily. Thanks in advance.

So, sounds like you want to know the how, eh?
There is one resource call membernaire.com that I highly recommend. The site owner is a very respectable marketer and DOES NOT integrate Hype into his marketing. Basically, it's info you can trust.
However, that's info you have to pay for. If you go to ezinearticles.com, I'm sure you'll find tons of information related to membership site building.
Here's what you will want to think about:
1. Membership Idea 2. Content Creation 3. Site Infrastructure 4. Customer Acquisition 5. Member Retention 6. Marketing Plan
Of course, not in this order, but these are the main areas in putting it together. It takes a lot of work but the rewards are great.
Good Luck to you and keep us updated on how things work out.
