... that you are spending too much time on any given task that throughout the day that is not directly showing profits?
As an example of what I am referring to, since I've joined this forum, I've a significant amount of time searching the content here. And the thing is this, it is good content and relevant content, but I am not directly making any money from the activity.
The other thing is this, I am now finding myself posting more, because this community seems so conducive to me doing so. So, what I am concerned with is that I might enjoy posting a little too much and not get any "real" work done.
If anyone here can identity with this, please to do not hesitate to say. I can use not being the only here with time management issues.
As always, thanks for reading and responding back to this post.

You have got to focus on what you need to do. If you find yourself coming here and spending too much time, then spend less time. You got to do the necessary things in order to grow your business.
The night before, write down the tasks that you think are important for you to do the next day online and this will make things a whole lot easier for you.
You can't just come online the next day, have not plan in place, and play around the internet for nothing. Plan your day. Sit down and think:
"What do I need to do the next day in order to grow my business"
Don't waste you time doing things that have no impact on your business. Coming to this forum can only do you good so spend let's say 15 minutes here everyday reading topics that interest you and that may help you and give you new ideas.

I'm sure we are all guilty of feeling unproductive at times. And I can totally understand your query about the value of your time spent on a forum. Since part of my goals for every day is to learn something, I am more than willing to read posts, implement some ideas I've found, and then share back what's worked and what hasn't.
If I learn one new thing every day, act on it, and then evaluate it, by the end of the year my knowledge will have increased, my sites will be making more money, and my goals will be achieved.

It is always the famous 80/20 rule. Every thing you do in life, including making money, comes from 20% of your efforts. Many experts argue that 80% of your efforts are useless and you should eliminate them completely.
My take is that 80% efforts make you better at 20% things you do. So, if you feel what you're doing in that 80% of time is making you more productive, more knowledge, etc., I will continue doing it albeit with a lesser priority.

You are not alone, at times I say I'm only going to make 5 posts and end up making ten. While that may be good in one way its bad in another. So....what I do is write down what I got done today and tomorrow I will complete more than I have done today. Make sense?
The goal is progression, as time goes by it should grow to rapid progression. It's fairly simple, the more time you invest in your business, the more money will come to you. It's all in how bad you want it. Sometimes you have to force yourself to keep going...push...push...push...keep pushing. You cover a little ground with each push. Before you know it you would have looked back and covered a whole football field. So....keep pushing...you can never push enough.
Good Luck!

Quite frankly, posting in forums is about sharing and receiving. And that is why forum marketing works so well.
I have successfully used forum marketing to make continuous money online for 3 years, and I training people in my business on doing this. If there was only one form of marketing that was free I could do online it would be forum marketing. When done "right" 15 minutes of work a day in a forum can go a long way in making you money from home working online.
As you stated you can get a lot of good info and content from some of the forum sites, and you can give others what they may be looking for not only in your content but in your signature links.
A good forum, like this one, will attract continuous quality persons that are looking for opportunities to make money from home. So if you are going to make it a habit of posting here and don't want to feel like you are wasting your time. You may want to find something viable that you can put in your signature link that may be of benefit to the people that will come to this forum.
If a person just wants to do play time posting then there is facebook and myspace, etc.
The owner of this forum is about business and host this site to make money, you better believe that, and there is no reason why you as a contributor should not be able to, and should not be, respectfully promote your "offerings" per the rules.
So I love posting on this forum and it has never been a waste of my time.

I have learned more from forums like this and Warriors Forum than any product I have purchased over the years.
I always allow a certain amount of time to participate in the forums.
For example, allow yourself 20 minutes each day or every 3rd day, whatever works for you. Once that time is up, go back to your money-making projects.

Discipline man.
It's challenging, but must be done if you want to get anywhere with this business.
No one here can say much of anthing to help you get over that (unless they're psycholgists). You wiill either be one of those who can never break the rut, or one of the few who finally GET'S it, and have no trouble leaving the tv, phone and forums behind.
Nothing wrong with learning from forums, but it's use less if you take nothing you learn and put it too action.
I take action all the time. Must be second nature to you. But that's up to you

Really depends how you look at it. Most people who attend college will spend thoudands of dollars on tuition, fees, books, and other school related items, and won't earn a dime from their education until 4 or 5 years after they start. So, if you invest some time now learning from the forum, and are able to apply that knowledge a little later to earn money, then you have made good use of your time.
