Hi I am a newbie in the forums, some of you may of read my post on urgent help needed! Sorry, I am a bit of a moron at the moment but stil working on getting good!
This topic was just to address a question I had. I am in the music industry at the moment, doing music composition for a few new artists, nothing major. It is realy difficult making money in music right now due to the ever-going effect of downloading music, so when I started the PL course I started thinking on how I could possibly use some of these tecniques to market my skills? What could I do? I have no idea
I was wondering if somebody could pitch some ideas across if they wouldnt mind sharing?
So the deal, Im a music producer, I cant sing or anything, just solely make music.
Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Ajay

Ajay,
Finish the entire PL course first. Then you'll know what to do. Pay special attention on how to perform keyword research.

NS, Speaking of keyword research and tools to accomplish that. Have you checked out Market Samurai? They use it in the 30DC and are saying good things about it in the Warrior Forum do you have an opinion of it as yet? Thanks. Sonni

Hi Sonni,
Yes, I like it. It is good for keyword research, competitive analysis, and related things.
Like most tools, it's a time saver in that it does your footwork for you.
The full version is $150 - a reasonable price considering the going rate in the market today. It's nice that it's a one time payment and you get free upgrades for life. I suspect that future updates will add value.
Since you are a 30DC member, I suggest that you give it the 30 day (or is it 40 day?) free trial run to see what you think of it.
Then you can decide if you'd like to purchase the full version.
It measures up to most of the better competitive analysis tools on the market.
It's a new tool so it may be a bit buggy for a while but I think they'll work out the bugs fairly quickly.
Perhaps you could find out if $150 will grant access to all functions once they become available. Be sure to get a straight and clear answer. This thing is a mini suite. As such there is a fair possibility they may charge separately to enable each additional main function.
To date, it queries the Google Keyword Tool and SEO Digger databases to generate it's keyword research output. This is a good start. Hopefully they'll add some check box options in the future. Don't worry about that one for now, that was mostly just a note to myself
Bear in mind that you'll still need to know how to do your own manual footwork and research as well as the whys behind it. Remember that a tool is a tool. Ultimately, the thing that will count the most is the quality and value of your content. Use the tools but focus on your writing.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks NS I'm sure your answer will be of benefit to others as well as myself. I like to get the scoop on new IM ' tools 'from one who knows before I spend money for it. Sonni

Hi Sonni,
You're welcome.
Just to clarify so that you don't end up frustrated: It's still in beta. They haven't worked out the bugs yet. When they feel it's somewhat stable, they'll release version 1.0.
It's only available so you can use it for the 30dc. You get to use it for free and they get a bunch of lab rats to provide free testing feedback so they can work out the kinks. The idea is to get folks to post problems they experience while installing, configuring and using the tool on their forum and then they know what to fix :)
Once they get enough kinks worked out, they release version 1.0. I'm sure that version 1.0 will be nice but I would only use the free trial version for now. If they don't get version 1.0 out after your trial expires, I'd consider waiting until they do.
FYI, version 1.0 will still have some bugs, but hopefully nothing too extreme. They'll keep coming out with patches and upgrades over time.
Between the end of the trial period and the version 1.0 release, you can always learn how to use the free tools. There are quite a few of them around.
Don't reach into your wallet just yet ;)

It's okay Ajay!
FYI Everyone else: You can still do the manual research with the Flock add on SEO.
Buy why go through all of that daunting boring work?
