Hi, I know from reading a lot if not all here are into affiliates and due to past scams I find it difficult to get into that, so as an alternative to that I am looking at some Drop-ship websites ya know one joins and get a web site already set up and full of products and the discount to you is usually 30 - 75%
all ya have to do is pass on the sales and keep the profit,
before I go down that road has any of you done that been there bought the tee-shirt, all advice very welcome,
Patrick

I didn't buy the t-shirt but I did wear it awhile ...
What I discovered with dropship companies is that there is a TON of competition out there.
There are a lot of dropship kind of companies on commission juction, linkshare etc...that you can do the exact same thing with so you don't have to pay to be a dropshipper!!
I paid to get access to dropshipping sites, before I knew better...
Dropshipping is simply another word for affiliate marketing - you can go to cj.com (commission junction) and market anything you want... just set up Squidoo lenses and direct people to the official websites and make commissions....
Having said all that.....
The benefit of joining a premade website deal is that usually the commission is slightly higher - which basically helps to cover the cost of the websites, etc.... and you have a nice attractive website that you can call your own...
BUT you will still need to find ways to drive traffic to it, and we talk a lot about that all throughout this website, like writing articles, blogging , setting up Squidoo lenses, etc...
OWM helps with Squidoo and how to set up a campaign using lenses, articles, etc...
Hope that all helps a little bit...without confusing you more.

I tried a 2 week free trial with Doba (a dropshipping company) last year hoping to find products to sell on ebay for profit. I looked up many products in their database from all sorts of categories, searched for them on shopping.com, ebay, amazon, etc and found the same products for sale for less than even my "wholesale" price (let alone "suggested retail" price) almost 100% of the time. Factoring in commissions/fees paid to ebay and paypal, there was no way any sort of profit could be made on a single product I found with Doba. Cancelled the membership before I had to pay.
The fundamental flaw of dropshipping is, despite the what the dropshippers tell you, you are NOT buying wholesale. You get absolutely no volume discount on the products you are trying to sell, so you will NEVER beat the price of someone who can buy the product for less than you. Why can Walmart crush mom and pop stores? Volume discounts.
That's why I'm so glad to have come across this site and learned about other options for home businesses!

The only problem with that route is that there are a lot of competitors selling the same kinds of products, so you have to make sure you can sell the product you are offering at a lower price. One way to find out how much demand there is for a particular product is to do a Completed Listings search on eBay - the selling price will be displayed in green if the item sold - or red if it did not sell.
